I had my interview today I was aproved, id been so nervous at the time when she handed me back my things i didnt notice what i had i just quickly put them away

But ive got home and I dont have my original police certificate and she gave me back both copies of the photographs i gave her?

Is this normal, she took the photos copies too, I thought i would need my police certificate back?

Another quick questions the lady also said it would be 2 weeks before I get my passport back, I was under the impression it was 3-5 days but in my happiness of approval I didn't ask why it was 2 week, has anyone else been told this?

Edit: I attended the London Embassy

You don't get your police certificate back. It stays in your file.

Ah thank you, I just assumed you got everything back and a search on here didnt return anything.

I'm still reeling in from shock of being approved and just dont want anything to be wrong, but thank you for your fast response.

I got my police certificate back and they kept the copy.

I'd try contacting the embassy and asking them for it back. theres no harm in asking. http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=United%20Kingdom&cty=London I'm sure you're the first person this has happened to. So long as they have a copy of it on file then I don't see there'd be an issue with them returning it. Just explained what happened.

I can't say anything about the time frame on getting your passport back, mine took a week. You can track it through the site where you paid the courier fee, it will tell you if its with the courier and there will be a tracking number. It'll probably be with you the end of next week. I think they say up to ten working days to get it back.

And congratulations!

The visa applicant has no actual use for the police certificate except to provide it as part of the visa application process.

I had my interview as well yesterday at 10:22 and i got approved. I was at windows 15 and there was a guy. If you had the photocopy of your police certificate than she was suppose to give it back to you.

and i didn't get my pics back.

when he said your visa is approved he told me the same thing that you will be getting your passport back within two weeks time.

what is your CEAC status at the moment ?

I was I906 and my CEAC status is Administrative Processing as well. You can request back your cert if you have given them photocopy.

I saw your number pop up a few times after the system came back up. Congratulation on your approval.

Im going to send an email now, im not entirely bothered, I dont think we need it now, but if i can have it back would be nice.

I got my visa delivered today, Along with my pack and passport my police cert was in there too, in case anyone wondered what happened. I did email the embassy but never got a reply.

You police certificate would be in the sealed envelope you are not to open. That's your file. If you opened that sealed envelope, it needs to be returned to the Consulate to be resealed.
