Hello VisaJourney.

I'm a guy from new jersey, I have dual citizenship (USA & German)

I just got married in Argentina, my wife has also dual citizenship (Argentina - Italian).

I have legal residence in Germany for the past year, and we just moved to Berlin. So we are planning on doing a DCF in Frankfurt. She will be filing her residence here next week.

I have a question to start. How does the address thing work? our housing status is very precarious (we might be moving to a different house in a month) Can we list a friends address as our mailing address?.

Any advice ahead of time?

Thanks!!

P

That's a good question. I think it would be best to list the address that is on your "Meldebescheinigung" (registration certificate). When I sent my I-130 I included my Meldebescheinigung as evidence that I have been residing in Germany legally for at least 6 months (I think the I-130 checklist lists this document as a required document that they want to see, so if your address on your Meldebescheinigung doesn't match the one you put on your I-130 form, they will wonder). You may want to attach a letter telling them about your address situation. Or wait another month until your address situation is resolved. See here: http://germany.usembassy.gov/visa/uscis/i130/
