The IIN is your Invoice Identification Number. It is used to pay your NVC fees. The next step will beto send in the DS-261 form. This form will be so that NVC sends everything to your lawyer as he/she is your choice of agent. Then the AOS fee needs to be paid. Since you have a lawyer they should be notifying you of this and paying that fee from your retainer.

As for when you will be here in the US? Depends on the time line for NVC and how fast your lawyer works. Some lawyers do not work as fast as if you were doing this on your own. An example is my husband and I are waiting for NVC to review and complete our case. We have a friend who is using a lawyer and sent in their petition 2 weeks before us and they still have not even paid their fees at NVC. The lawyer said she is waiting on documentation. Not all lawyers are like that, but it seems to happen frequent enough that people mention it here on the forum.

I agreed with Angela, you can do it by yourself. It faster than a lawyer, if you can't do I-864. Find someone to help you and maybe pay for a bit fee. Take the I-864 back and send to NVC by you. DS-260 and DS-261 are very easy to fillout

I completely agreed to you. I have horrible experience of lawyer, My wife have submitted the papers back in June 2013, and we got NOA1 in September. Now my worry is, since our case has been approved, I don't know how fast lawyer will work. Only reason we gave things in hand of lawyer because we both are damn busy with our lives. I hope everything works good and on time.

I would call NVC on your own. As long as you have your case number you are good. Once you have that and the IIN number you can check things online. When you see something come available then you call your lawyer and tell them that the fee is available and make them pay it.
