It would be great if our timeline could have an entry for "divorce" somewhere ... It's not too relevant for the website as such, but nice for our new partners to acknowledge that reality. And the option to take the ex-partner's name off the timeline?

Likely my new partner will soon start a petition for immigration, this time with me as the sponsor (last time I was the petitioner). I wonder if there's a way to do this from the same profile?

I guess the question is: do profiles belong to individuals or to couples?

Profiles belong to individuals, even though sometimes a couple will use the same profile. It is also possible for a member to have more than one 'visa journey', whether it is with a new spouse or sponsoring another family member, such as a parent.

You should be able to 'edit' the information posted on your timeline to update it for your new Visa Journey.

That is an interesting suggestion to add 'divorce' as part of the timeline. I doubt the statistics generated would be very useful as many do not return to Visa journey after they have completed their immigration processing so may not update that particular item, plus many of our members will never have anything to place in that area; still, divorce - and death - do happen, so it is certainly something we can discuss with Administration to add to the Timelines.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Actually a lot do come back to post when the relationship dissolves and then leaves forever and I think people thinking about the journey would love to be able to see the average time until things go bust. Myself I would like to see the date of the relationship ending and a tick for differences or fraud. Most are probably differences but being able to tell the difference with high fraud countries maybe be helpful to those making decisions.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

You must be a real hoot at parties. <_<

But seriously ...

Would it also be a benefit, if you're looking to differentiate between personal differences and possible immigration fraud, to also note those posters that tried the foreign partner route again? That might also bring a level of trust/faith in the process, if someone is willing to go through all this again, in spite of previous experience.

Hi Pooky, I'm glad you posted, because that Garfield comic is really hilarious!

Actually, it would be really interesting to know how USCIS sees people who do it a second time. I wonder if they investigate these people more thoroughly, or not.
