Hi

My partner and i will be sending the K1 visa application off next week but i have a question about something. After we are married, i know you are not able to leave the US until I have adjusted my status. The problem is we plan on making a trip to Canada in June of next year and im worried my green card will not be through by then. I heard there is a form you can send in with the K1 visa application that allows for a trip to a different country just incase the green card hasnt come through. Does anyone know what this form is?

Any help would be great!

When you apply for AOS, you can also apply for AP (Advanced Parole) that will allow you to travel outside of the US while your AOS is pending. From what I know, it takes about 90 days for you to receive it. Check the AOS guide for more info. :)

This is only sent in with AOS, not the K1 process. During the K1 process, you are free to go back and forth as you wish, provided you never overstay.
