Hello,

Has anyone else had trouble with the 2D barcode? When I fill out the .pdf form here (http://www.uscis.gov/i-864) there doesn't seem to be a barcode, I even tried printing it to see if it is just invisible on the document and still nothing. Is that normal? Am I doing something wrong? Should I just send it without the barcode?

Thanks for your help!

08-15-2013- NOA1
09-27-2013- NOA2 "Wait, can that be right? 43 days!?!" (re-read several times over) ... (rub eyes) ... (stare blankly) ...

(GOVERNMENT SHUT-DOWN) Oh no! what are we gonna do! Good thing our petition was approved in mythically fast time!

Uh oh, we still haven't heard from NVC! ...But wait!

11-14-2013- Consulate Received (Um, what happened to the NVC? Oh well...)
11-15-2013- Packet 3 NOT sent because it doesn't exist anymore... DS-160 and READINESS online form completed!
11-19-2013- Medical Examination ("we had a cancellation, we can get you in on tuesday." Wow!)

12-17-2013- Interview date!

I see bar coding at the bottom of each page of the form > http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864.pdf

Try saving it to your computer? Updating your pdf reader?

Thank you for your responses.

I'm on OSX Mavericks, I've tried using both Google Chrome and Safari. I've filled out the form completely and printed it and I'm not getting a barcode.

What have you guys used?

Thanks. :)

I'm pretty sure you really HAVE to use Adobe Reader. (It's free, but you probably have to download it from adobe.com if it's not on your computer already.)

I have a Mac and have run into this issue many times -- none of the browsers on the Mac will handle the more advanced features like barcodes, and even the Preview app doesn't do a great job.

Save the pdf file to your computer and open it with Adobe Reader. That's the recommended way that's certain to work fine.

Did you try Internet Explorer yet?. I was using the same computer ( PC ) but I could not get bar code on Google Chrome. So I tried to use Internet Explorer and surprisingly it works.

You might need to update your adobe or install the new version because my mac is working fine in Safari of Maverick OS.

HELLO, MY FORMS ARE READY AND I JUST GOT TO KNOW ABOUT THE PROBLEM OF THIS BAR CODES. PLEASE CAN I SUBMIT THE SIGNED FILE WITHOUT THE CODE?

IM USING A MACBOOK PRO. BECAUSE OF THIS BARCODE, DOWNLOADED SAFARI AND I NOW SEE THE BAR CODES ON I864,I130 AND I485 RESPECTIVELY.

WHILE STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN TO REFILL ALL DATAS, USING ADOBE ACROBAT PRO, IF I WANT TO WRITE MY NAME (THAT HAS SYMBOL - IN BETWEEN) THE SOFTWARE DOES NOT ALLOW ME.

PLEASE MY QUESTION AGAIN ARE...

1.. Please if we submit without the bar codes visibly showing on the forms, are our forms going to be rejected?
2... Is it right to send without bar code visibly showing on the form?
3... Should i start all over again to download, fill and sign all forms again?
