Ciao everybody. I have to say this has been the most helpful and informative site I've found on immigration. Now, on to my inquiry. I'm in a little pecadillo. I'm currently in the Air Force (soon to be seperating in little more than a year) and right now am stationed overseas. My last assignment was in Turkey and there I met my heart. Due to a flurry of unusual circumstances we couldn't marry before I was reassigned (and the fact that I was deployed on the date we planned to get married didn't help). Okay, on to my question. I plan on returning to the states when I get out, I'm wondering if it is possible (or fraud [?]) to file the 129F overseas just to get the ball rolling so when I actually touch down in the states I'll be well in the process already?

Anybody know anything concerning this topic? Any help would be deeply appreciated.

If you maintain a residence in the USA (or a mailing address) then no, it's not fraud, as far as I know. I did the whole thing (fiance visa for my fiance) while I was in his country on a tourist visa. If you can have someone gather documents for you in the US and then FedEx them to you as the process goes along (or maybe you can use your APO address to just have it sent regular mail?) you should be OK.
