Normally, medical is done within 1-2 days, and suggested to be taken 5-7 days before interview in USEM. You can also take the medical a month before your interview, but just take note that visa validity is tied with your medical date, that is +6 months from medical. So unless you have health concerns especially related to TB or other communicable diseases (which I hope not), this is the timeline you're looking at.

hi.. i just wanna know what's the effective evidence or status my boyfriend needs to get his NOA2 very fast. does money from the bank effects the application. i mean, is it possible to get approved fast if you have big savings in the bank? thank you..

Nope.. Bank account deposit doesn't matter. If you live in a place that was affected by typhoon Haiyan, then you'll be expedited. Approval usually in 2 weeks.

Yeah.. Thank you. I wish all the best for us.. Actually my boyfriend filed his application last march 18 and the embassy messaged him that he'll receive his NOA1 7-10 days.. I'm just anxious about our status. Or his status as student.. Thank you though good luck..

Just some quick clarification your boyfriend submitted the petition to USCIS, not to your embassy. Your embassy gets involved in the very last stage when you have your interview.

When you say "last March", do you mean March 2013? If so, has your boyfriend checked up on what's happening? That is a very long time to wait for an I-129F approval.

The only way being a student can affect anything is if he doesn't make 125% of the federal poverty guideline for his household size. If he doesn't, he will still be primary sponsor, but will need to either find a job pronto, or ask a family member or friend to be a co-sponsor for you. This financial aspect of the visa doesn't come into play until your I-129F is approved and your petition is forwarded from USCIS to NVC and then finally on to your embassy.

Edit: When I say "your embassy", I mean the American embassy in your country. It's probably also worth mentioning now that the American embassy in the Philippines is very picky when it comes to co-sponsors. They may say that your fiancé can be the only one to sponsor you, but YMMV.

Having money to pay for the application fees is not what is going determine whether it gets approved or not. Your boyfriend has to make enough money to support you, being a student has nothing to do with anything.

The great news for you is that your fiancee is from the Philippines. The wait time is generally shorter. Our NOA1 took 40 days. We were lucky enough to have our paperwork sent to CSC. Check out the timelines on this link. See the huge differences in processing times based on where your paperwork is sent. Unfortunately, you have no control over where it goes.

From what I've seen, petitions get sent to TSC or CSC depending on where the petitioner lives. East Coast gets sent to TSC, West Coast to CSC.

there was a K-1 approval the guys got their NOA2 in one week of getting the NOA1 looks like they are trying to keep on with their processing time good luck

i just found out, my boyfriend didnt submit his financial support or something about money because the woman who took his application said the he doesnt need to file those information because the affidavit of support is needed in my interview but not on his application.. how is that?

It's normal that he didn't include financial documentation, as the financial support piece of the puzzle doesn't come into play until after the NOA2: it is then that your petitioner will have to prove that he has either sufficient income or sufficient assets to support an immigrant.

It's never too early to get that documentation ready, though, especially if you get the expedited processing that some beneficiaries from the Philippines are getting (it seems to be less consistent than before, but still happening in at least some of the cases). If your petitioner has everything together ahead of time, you can practically eliminate turnaround time between steps.

Wait... does he have a job? He needs an income that is over 125% above the national poverty level. Having money in the bank is not enough and money to pay for the application is not enough.
