Please if someone can help me I am getting ready to mail off my paperwork and I am torn...about the affidavit of support...for 2012 I meet the income requirement but for 2013 I dont and would need a co sponsor but technically arent they not counting 2013 until the tax deadline so if I go ahead and mail the package now I can use my income from 2012 and be ok??

It's your current income that counts. The requirement to prove that you've filed tax returns is a separate requirement. You don't need to show a tax return for 2013, but you do need to prove current income greater than the required level. If you can't do that, you need a cosponsor.

Its better to get a co sponsor and save yourself the hassle.the process itaelf is gonna take several months until you get to an interview.in which case if they ask for updated tax returns your gonna have to update your entire affidavit of support and your gonna look bad.just swallow the pill and get a co sponsor.impressions are everything when it comes to immigration and you do not want to appear to conceal anything.thats just my two cents. Good luck

Before you get a co-sponsor, do you have enough assets? If you have another assets, then you won't need a co-sponsor.

So, if you need to earn $19,662 in order to sponsor your spouse, if that's who you're sponsoring, and you only make $15,662, the difference is $4,000. Multiply that by 3 and that is $12,000, so you need to prove that you have at least $12,000 worth of assets.
