Joint sponsor

I have a question that couldnt find an answer for:

Im about to apply to change the status from J-1 for PR (green card based on the marriage)

Unfortunately my spouse is short $4000 in her affidavit of support. I know that joint sponsor would fix that problem and here is the question:

Lets assume that joint sponsor was already a joint sponsor for somebody else a year ago. I know he can be sponsor as many times as he wants, the problem is whats the poverty limit for 2nd sponsorship (for the second person he will be joint sponsor for). for example poverty limit for 2 people in a household 125% is 19000, would the sponsor need double that (because of previous sponsorhip) so 38 000 or just extra person "in the household" so that wopuld be 3 peoiple 125% so roughtly 24 000.

I couldnt find an answer anywhere;/

The joint sponsor total count to check the correct 1.25·(poverty line) is his/her household + 2 (where that 2 is you + the other person being sponsored).

So, if he/she lives with a spouse and two little kids, it would be 6.

so for example:

if anybody (without spouse and kids) would sponsor 3 people at the same time it would be household of 4 (so about 29 000) not 4x 19 000.

Is that correct?

Yeah, like that. Just to be clear for your example, the single-no-kids joint sponsor is already sponsoring 2 people, and wants to also sponsor you, his 864 for your application has to cover 1.25PL for FOUR people (1.25 PL for 4 people)

so in my case it would be 29,812
