Granted!! Just wana say thank you all.

Sent in my N-400 on 1/8/14 and got my biometric done on 2/10/14 and had my interview today at noon. Passed the exam after 10 min and was granted to become a US Citizen.

Now I am just going to wait for the Oath Ceremony.

it has been quite a trip since I first got here back in '97 but everything is worth it.

If anyone wants tips or my experience at the Jacksonville, FL location, dont hesitate to ask me.

:)

See you all soon.

Nope, when I was asked about the English Civics Exam, the examiner just kept asking until I get 6 correct (out of 10) and then we just moved to the next section. (You could count though, the questions are exactly the same as what you have been studying, i.e. Who is the first president, Name two US holidays)

My interview process: Questions on my N-400 (it is more like verifying if nothing has been changed i.e. what is your name? do you still live in this address? tell me about your last trip outside the US), English Civic Questions (100 questions), Writing Portion (My question: California has the most people), Speaking Portion (My question: The state has the most people), a decision was made and signed my N-400 app.

My interview schedule: Scheduled for 12:15pm and I got there at 11:15am. No one was there yet so I waited until 12:10pm when I was called. An associate checked me in with another photo shoot and had another bio-metric done (probably to confirm it is really you). At 12:15pm sharp, the examiner walked me to his office and we started the process though the door was open the whole time.

I would say my examiner was very polite and courteous. The interview was conducted in a timely fashion.

Hope this helps,

Additional Tip: Review your N-400 application, study for English Civics Exam and don't be late.

I used the following website to prepare for my interview and I found it VERY useful.

Wow! Congrats! :)

Your podcast link have been useful. Thanks. Did they ask your home phone number in the interview? I have put my cell number as Day time phone number. What should I tell them when they ask for home phone number? My cell number that I entered or my original home #.

Thanks.

They just go over each question and verify that the information is correct. Don't worry about it too much. When she gets to the part of home phone number, answer what you wrote and then if she asks what is the day time number you put, answer what it is. I also put my cellphone as my daytime number and she asked what is the number you put here and I answered and we moved on. Don't over think things... :)

Congrats..

I also stay in Jacksonville and planning to send N-400 within a week.

Any other tips?..what location in Jacksonville did you go?.

What documents did you take?.

Thank you!! I went to the office in Southside, Jax, behind a gas station.

I got both my bio metric and interview done at the same place. There is a parking lot with plenty of parking spaces; the staff there were very friendly. The office is not very big, so you don't really have to run up or down to different offices, Once you are instructed to go to that window or sitting area, you won't be wrong.

As far as the tips, I would say it depends on the way you get your Permanent Card (Green Card) and also if you have other conditions that will need to be reviewed (sons & daughters, spouses, trips outside the U.S., plus additional documents that may be required for you to bring to your interview). Follow the instructions on the USCIS notices and try not to reschedule your appointments. I wore business casual. Try to practice the English Civics exam and do mock interviews with another person. And ask questions during the interview if the interviewer speak too fast or if you don't understand a question.

Basically the interview is a review so you have to know what you have first submitted and informed the USCIS official if there has been any changes.

As far as the documents, I brought green cards, an extra set of passport photos, current/past passports, social security card, title and insurance of my vehicle and all of the USCIS notices and selective service card if you are male and btw 18-26.

I hope this helps and good luck!

Thanks.

One last question "As far as the tips, I would say it depends on the way you get your Permanent Card (Green Card) "..

I got Employee based GC(through Substitute labor). Do you i need to bring any additional documents due to this.

Just relax, read your application in advance so you remember what you answered and then yes, answer the same answers you put down in the application. Make it simple!
