any update from VSC???? anybody ?

If you hop over to the March filer's thread, you'll see none of them have seen any action yet either. So its going to be at least another month before something happens here. February filer's at VSC are 69% complete though.

I agree. I think we should see a movement some time in September.

Sorry to the moderator. I posted on the wrong wall. Finally, got our I-751 approved after 4 months. For a while I was getting worried because the May/June California filers are up to 80-90% approval. Also another filer in April that sent theirs the same time as us got approved over a month ago. We just got the approval today. Now we await the production of the green card. I Updated my timeline. Good luck to the other April filers who's waiting for approval.

On August 18, 2014, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

The DMV can be so dense when it comes to dealing with these issues, we had a problem getting his ID with a greencard, so renewing it I'm sure will be an even bigger ordeal if at all possible.

With the extension letter and expired GC he can travel and also renew his ID!

No trouble traveling with the extension letter and expired green card.

The ID is an entirely different matter though. States control who can get an ID under their own laws and rules. Get a poorly trained person at the DMV and it can be a real headache to get something done. Too often when they don't know, they just say no. I would arm yourself with the rules on ID's and Drivers licenses, printed out, before going in if you've had trouble in the past.

I was worried about it also, specially here in ATL where they are very picky about renewing the driver's licence. But for my surprise when I went there she asked for my green card I said it expired but that I had en extension letter, I just got a new pic taken and pay 20 dollars, that was it. I got it with no problem, I guess if you find that they are not being helpful ask them to talk to the manager or supervisor.

Yes all you need is the expired green card and the extension letter. That letter adjusted your green card expiration by 1 year from the date of the letter. Wife had to get a new Drivers License here in Alabama and that is all it took.
