Thanks to everyone here for sharing your experiences. It really helped me out a lot. Looks like California has a massive backlog that some petitions they're uploading prior biometrics so you don't have to go to ASC. The key is to get on the line with a Tier 2 service agent. Be demanding like what others have said or just make up a story and tell them you were on with a Tier 2 agent and your connection was lost or your cell battery died so to please reconnect you and transfer the call and they'll do it. Both times that we tried the lady agent was nice. The other day a man answered and he was rude, stating that we can't transfer the call due to loaded calls for to leave your name/number and someone will call back in 3-5 days. The first call my wife was on hold over an hour and hung up to eat lunch. In the afternoon I called and was on hold for 3 hours. I put my speaker phone on while I rested and played Candy Crush.

Tried to do an early walk in at fresno ASC and we were rejected. Have to go in right at the time listed on letter...

Not all the ASC allow early Walk in. Sorry to hear that they didn't allow you :(

They should not do that. Its not like you are doing 2 weeks early walk in. Anyway, just be patient so that this thing will be out of your way :)

Oh that one is you, I've bought a much nice barrel for my wife. It has an umbrella attachment to keep the sun off of her. She hates getting darker from the sun, and its a long trip across the Pacific.

I received NOA on 4/17. No bio yet too. This appears to be a common occurrence. I called USCIS today and placed a service request to check the status of my application. It didn't take long to connect with a CSR (approx. 3 minutes). Let's hope that no bio letter = no need to drive to ASC center.

I received a response from USCIS today. A pleasant surprise.

"A review of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records indicates that your biometric information is current, and it is not necessary for you to appear at an Application Support Center (ASC) for a biometrics appointment at this time. The biometrics fee will not be refunded. USCIS will contact you if updated biometric information or any other additional information is needed to process your petition."

I did not attempt an early walk-in (I never received the bio notice). My adjustment of status biometrics was completed in May 2012. One can only assume that USCIS has changed its policy on biometrics for ROC.

I still don't have my case #, though. I can either sit tight and wait for my card to arrive or call USCIS and wait a few hours to speak to a Tier II CSR.

Well the model in the barrel is just for demonstration purposes. But it should be more than enough to get you across the river.

She's always wishing she had my pale white color. There's no getting thru to her, that her color is beautiful. A real shame that, but I'm not going to break a lifetime of conditioning. But she does seem a little less concerned about getting into the sun that she was back home.

05/25/2018: Received NOA Bio-metrics for I485 Appt: 06/10/2018

06/10/2018: Bio-metrics are completed

06/12/2018: Received RFE requesting for a Birth Certificate for both parents

07/28/2018: Responded to RFE, sent their non availability of birth certificate copy

08/02/2018: Online status changed to " Request for Evidence was Received"

08/29/2018: Made an info pass appointment requesting for expediting Travel document as parents had to travel India. Expedite request was rejected 

09/14/2018: I131 Parole document was Approved

I sure they hope they change their policy because I am yet to be convinced that they require one to take another set of biometrics less than 2 yrs after taking one.

And by them not refunding the fees whose expense they did not incur, that's just bad.

Received the reply to service request today:

"Based on your request, we have enclosed a copy of your Application Support Center (ASC) Appointment Notice. Please follow the instructions listed on this notice."

But NOTHING was attached. :ranting:

My guess is there is no appointment notice, and the person replying to the inquiry did not do his/her job.

I guess, now we have no choice, but to call them. :angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:
