This may be posted somewhere, Im bored and just curious now what is the actual process involved on the service centers part that concludes in the NOA2. I mean do they just pick up your packet when they are finally ready and just read through it make sure the evidence is there and spelling all forms filled out correctly and thats it. Or is there like preliminary background checks they do, Look into your social security number for whatever. Basically just want to know in detail what exactly they do with our packets when they are "processing" them from NOA1 to NOA2. If anyone knows lol.

I don't remember the entire process but I know they do do a name check, which takes at least 2 weeks. If there is a hit, then they have to do further checking. Most of the time your petition will just be sitting there waiting for the name check, and then put in line behind the other petitions waiting.

is the name check the same as the FBI check?? and what would constitute a hit?? i am from lebanon and i wonder if just being from a middle eastern country would raise any flags.

An FBI name check is sometimes but not always performed. The IBIS name check is the primary security check performed. Just being from a middle eastern country shouldn't raise a flag, but possibly having a middle eastern type name is more likely to have a hit (match) with a name in the databases they use to check for possible terrorists, and thus require further investigation. If a name matches that of a suspected terrorist, expect a long delay. However I've seen many middle eastern applicants breeze right through the petition stage.

Its a mystery really when you come down to it...my fiancee and I have been waiting for what might be four months here pretty soon....what they are doing with my petition is unknown...i suppose they do nothing with it...let it lay around....maybe take a look at it once in a while and wonder if we're having a splended time waiting for the uscis to decide how my life shall play out...there might be a name check, but i wonder how hard it is to type in a name and see that there is no woman terrorist named ketino out there...what a sweet woman she is too, and its making me really fustrated and upset that i pay these guys good money to only watch my petition get passed by, by the october filers, which must have turned out not to be terrorists in a faster amount of time, or maybe had the most wonderfuly layed out packet to adjuncture, o, and by the way the vermont center must really kick A at not letting those darn terrorists recive a K1 since they get their job done in many situations under a month, sometimes a week ...its a joke. when i picture the uscis in my mind and what they are doing with my petition i see it laying on some dude's desk that doesnt care, he takes a look at me, and at her and says "well hey these guys are real young..im going to do a shoty job doing what i should have done a long time ago, my job, and make them stress out and realize more than ever that the world is not fair, and to be super patient and lonely as hell"

im sure thats what goes on.

alex

in time it all shall pass.....if the uscis wants it to.
