After sending NVC ENROLL email for Electronic Processing do we have to wait for an ENROLL acceptance email from NVC before we email AOS or IV packages to them? My AOS can be emailed today.

I don't believe so. They supposedly respond to emails as they come so they should see your enroll email first anyway.

ya, must wait before emailing,

as the switch is not turned on yet.

send stuff before the switch is on? it won't be retrieved in any duration that's useful.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Sorry for the misinformation! I thought I had seen other people submit directly after the enroll email was sent.

You have and so have I that's why I am asking. Also I've called NVC 4 times and have spoken to 4 different operators on the subject and have been given conflicting information. 2 say wait, 2 say no you don't have to wait. Almost quicker to mail stuff in than to sit here and wait for a stinkin response. By the time they respond to the ENROLL email my AOS could be mailed and there already.

if you emailed off prior to receiving the AOS fee bill,

I say email the enroll email again.

I actually did what you are asking. I sent in the AOS package a few hours after I sent in the enroll electronic processing email. Once I received the confirmation email stating I was enrolled, we called NVC and they said if I didn't receive a confirmation when I sent in the AOS, so send it in again. I did not receive a confirmation when I sent the AOS the first time, but did once I sent it in the second time.

How is EP quicker if we have to wait a week or two to receive confirmation from NVC before we can email in our info. I can mail AOS out today and it would be there in two days. This is ridiculous. If I had known it was going to take this long, I wouldn't have opted for the EP I would have done snail mail instead, just seems snail mail would actually be quicker.

EP is not quicker, but it's cheaper and you keep a hold on your vital documents. Your choice if you're in China or Montreal. Mandatory EP countries do not have a choice, but there are few of those.

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.  - Dr. Seuss

Yeah I know xprecious32...it is a bit ridiculous. Once I was enrolled and resent, I received a checklist 7 days later (3/19)...

  • They said in box 9 - the information was incomplete. Which is just dumb because it says to enter an address if different that mailing address. So you can't leave that blank.
  • I accidently entered the wrong number for my 2013 tax income

...so back to waiting. It just sucks cause now it went back in the line of emails that receive.

Just more proof not to do anything until you receive confirmation that you are enrolled in Electronic Processing:

  • 02/26/14 - sent our AOS the same day that I sent a request for EP
  • 03/16/14 - received confirmation that we were enrolled in EP - called that day to NVC to see if they received the AOS and they said to resend
  • 03/19/14 - received a checklist on the first AOS I submitted. Sent checklist response.
  • A week or so after we sent the checklist response in, we called NVC. They stated they did not receive it and advised us to resend checklist response.
  • 04/02/14 - received another checklist. We called NVC because we did not know if we were getting a checklist on the 2nd submission of the AOS or what. NVC advised us to resend the checklist response.

I just have a feeling this is not going to go well. :protest:

Just to clarify, i thought EP will shave 2-3 months off your processing time, at least that's what I read. Is that not true?

I sent the enroll email on 4/15 and it's been 9 days still no response. Both AOS and IV bills are paid, i could sent in the AOS package by snail mail 7 days ago.

Did i make a mistake to enroll in EP and should just done regular snail mail? This is for china/guanzhou so i had the option to do either.

Just wait and more wait :ranting: As a developer myself, whoever designed those process and systems in uscis and nvc all needs to be fired. Just horrible...

for china,

it shaves 2 to 5 months off of the waiting time.

not the NVC processing time.

the shave occurs like this:

case compete

interview date set about a week after case complete, to a date 25 to 45 days out.

on a paper casefile, for china, OTOH,

the case is complete,

then it's sent on to China (7 days)

then it sits in a China Customs Warehouse (per treaty as it's Consular Documents) for 1 to 3 months

then

Guangzhou IV retrieves it then

Guangzhou IV opens the casefile (takes about 10 days) then

Guangzhou IV sets the schedule (waiting 10 to 20 days) for 25 to 45 days out and

sends off an appointment letter for the interview.

newguy - study my profile (click my name or the girls) for my EP stuff - I had to get a supervisor involved almost each time along the way. I agree, their thing is busted.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
