Hi all,

I need your help, please. I have been living in Thailand for about 1 1/2 years with my new wife. I have not worked for about 3 years. I have been living off my savings. I am looking over the I-864 form. I have about $30,000 dollars in my savings. I need to know if I will need to get a sponsor, or will the money in my saving be OK? The money in savings will put us over the poverty line for a family of two, but I don't know how this works. I also need to know, if I need my tax forms (1040)? I had my accountant file tax form, but I have no income. We have filed the I-130 and are waiting for them to accept it, but I would like to get started on the other paper work. With a DCF It can move fast from what I have read. Thanks!

You need a co sponsor.

You will need a co sponsor. Both of you will need tax transcripts for 3 years to attach to the 864.

What visa did you use to live in Thailand?

I had a tourist visa for 16 months and an o visa for the last 2 months. Would that be the 2013 transcript or 2012 tanscript? Thanks.

You cant file DCF unless you have been a legal resident ( O ) for 6 months.

Three years back from most recent year filed.
