Timing of Medical and Police Certificate

My wife and I are doing all we can to ensure no delays in our NVC processing - To that point, how long is the medical and police certificate valid for? We'd like to get those both taken care of right away (along with my tax records etc for sponsorship).

Medical though you can't book until you have your interview booked.

I was under the impression that a Canadian police check is good for a year. And medical can only be done once interview is scheduled

Police certificate is a year. Medical cannot be booked until interview is booked.

I was also under the impression that Canadian Police Checks are only good for six months, as I have to get them every few years for my license for work. Winnipeg Police Checks are only good for six months. Are RCMP checks different?

I just noticed the word certificate. Is there a difference?

Canadian police checks or certificates are valid for the period the person wanting them want them to be valid for. Montreal needs them a year or less old at interview.
