There's no establishing of a state religion at play here. You're free to start an Islamic school or a Jewish one.

You would be hard pressed to find a jewish school in need of public funding. For obvious reasons, the jewish community takes the education of their children seriously, and money is seldom an issue.

There's a Jewish charter near where I live. They call it a Hebrew charter, but c'mon....

If the 'church tax' was levied by a local community, had local support, and funds could be used for any place of worship for which demand existed in the local community... yes.

Churches should pay taxes as any other business...

States should use a voucher system in the same way the fed gives money under the GI bill type education programs .... let the parent chose the school.

The State should administer a test the students must pass.

If they're going to fund creationism, they should also have to fund teachings concerning Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny. It's only fair.

1 - Wrong. How could the nation that put a man on the moon teach mythology to their children as though it were substantiated?

As it turns out, we no longer have a prayer at the start of the school day..... nor are we first in anything anymore

(Except prison populations)

Creationism has no place being taught as a science. None.

That it gets taught at all remains a mystery, as the available science renders it meaningless, unless you abandon science as a means to explain things and rely solely on faith and the words men have transcribed as the word of God.

False. As usual. What's at issue is that kids are taught myths not only instead of but actually as science. That's a problem. At no point was the American school system envied by the world for religious indoctrination taking the place of actual education. The American Taliban ought to direct their attention to Afghanistan for a moment to see where their brand of "education" leads.

LOL

Your system is in decline and it pains you that no matter what we do... no matter what we spend..... no matter what new program is embraced, we see the same failed results.
