so, you think that now, based off of what you said, the crime is low because all of the children from single mothers are locked up?

"All" children of single mothers are not criminals.

They are by leaps and bounds more likely to be.

The more criminals you keep locked up the more children of single mothers are incarcerated....... another huge expense placed on the backs of the tax payer.

There is only one thing that the prison population has more in common than being illegitimate.... tattoos.

Why would someone have to defend their "blackness"?

It's the life we live. This is why I feel compelled to try and reason with folks. This is going to be long:

Here in America, being black isn't as simple as having a certain skin color. You have to "act" the part. This is why I'd wager Janelle, Jinx and myself have at some point had this very conversation. You have to listen to rap and hip hop. You have to eat chicken and watermelon. You have to talk jive and slang. You have to be uneducated. You're good at sports, but suck in school. You have rhythm. It's what's expected of you. What's worse is, if you don't fit this mold, you're not truly black. Same thing goes for women, you have to have long nails, weave, talk crazy, have 5 kids by 6 fathers and so on.

It's why when white kids dress in saggy pants, they're called dressing black. It's become so ingrained into our sub conscience that acting like a regular person is exceptional. I don't speak "white", I speak coherently. This is why we were teased as kids. Black has become synonymous with ignorant, dangerous, lazy, and other bad words.

I hope they don't lock the thread its not often i am able to see such hate and intolerance directed towards a religion or a persons skin color  with the total intent to incite a group of people with the same mentality as the one spewing it.

Makes me understand what my mom said about there is no cure for stupid.

Marv your a better Muslim than I am I hope one day to have the patience and ability to let jabs roll off my shoulders like you do.

Oh trust me, I have my days up in here. I'm trying to take the better route, because yelling and screaming does no one any good but thank you for your compliment. You can only fight fire with water.

I forgot the president signed that executive order. Cool you are back in

Yep, I want my Christmas card. If it has Kwanza on it, I'm going to cut you.

That some craziness......but sadly its true......two of my sisters are black they commented on how the other students were shocked they don't talk or act black.....both excel in sports but also have very high gpa....one would not have rhythm if you hit her upside the head with it........... the other one can dance sing play about any instrument made how ever neither one like watermelon or chicken

when asked if they feel insulted by those comments both said .........we don't have a problem they do.....there are other black students in their school that interact with the girls with out any problems seems to be the white students that are the most shocked and find it hard to understand why they just don't naturally have the walk and the talk.......

Guess we're keeping it going by trying to have constructive dialogue. Remove the nasty elements, we can talk.

I get that at least once a week. It's usually a product of not interacting with minorities, so they're taken back when it's not what they've seen or heard.

At least he posted references which is more than some here do.

I think it is fair to assume he is not aware that some religions and some groups of people are more untouchable here at VJ than are others.

NO doubt his posts will be removed while the vile and personal attacks against me personally remain, but hey,, I am just a guest honored to be here so I accept things for what they are.

IN fact, that is the secret to my success in life, my failures are usually rooted in the moments I forgot that principle.

It's kind of pointless when you post references from hate sites. Does nothing to further the conversation.

Islam is not untouchable, the focus is more intense. When you see members spamming videos and links attacking any other religion, it will happen all the same.

No one attacks you. They attack your rather bigoted view of the world. When you start getting called a slave, pedophile, woman beating, murdering piece of filth(I was called that just this week) then you can complain.

Hey BJ, looks like it's all clear for now. Fire away with your questions.

I'm assuming the "Pastor" in Islam is called the Imam? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Is there any type of ordination process or educational standard to become an Imam?
