Those policies which encourage Mothers and fathers of children to be married and stay married.

Look closely ay any policy which makes comfortable the path of doing the wrong thing (having kids out of marriage).

No longer allow children to be used as hostage. (Pay me or my child suffers).

Meeting their demands only puts more kids in that situation.... they tend to replicate the same lifestyle.

There is no perfect policy where someone does not get taken care of or gets left behind but when you look at the numbers of people on longterm and short term assistance,

from the grocery store to the jail house, they are in large margin the product of fatherless children.

We must loose this recent notion that society should not be judgmental.

Societies judgement does what no law can, prompt people to do the right thing.

IN my fathers time, a man simply being divorced was excluded from serving as a board member, or as a civi leader.

While that might have been excessive, it was also an era where few men walked out on their family... where illegitimacy was like 2%

where Children benefited from such social and family stability.

PS: you mis use the "judge not" scripture, there is such a things as a right-judgment, in fact there is a whole book in the bible called "judges".

I have all compassion for single mothers and the struggle they brought on themselves, I'm actually working on a plan (of sorts) to give shelter to just such a case: A mother of two with one on the way, living in a hotel, with some tattooed looser, No one in her family has room for her.

Marvin I went to USCIS today for Biometrics for my wife. The Black security guard stopped everybody coming in. Asked to see USICS paper work, checked them for cell phones, explained prohibited items.

When he got to me he gave me the ol' head up chin wave and said, You a cell phone man? I said nope. He waived me thru. No Id nothing. No list of prohibited items. Nothing.

I will say that yes a two parent home is ideal and yes I would argue that children have a much fuller life with having a responsible man in the home but I also believe that it is only part of the equation. There are way more White families with single parents than there are Black, based on population numbers alone. I don't think it is a race issue as much as it is other factors such as economics which I would argue is the biggest reason. Children who come from single parent homes where they don't have to worry about where their next meal is coming from, or if they have a decent place to sleep have a greater chance of success than a child in a single parent home where the basic necessities are not provided. And lets not even start with education because how can a child learn when they are on an empty stomach and live in war zones.

In addition what you also fail to realize is that Black women have been raising children alone since families were split apart due to American slavery. If you look at Africa pre-slave trade, the family was central to everything in life. The American slave trade split apart families, America created what you see now. I am not using that as an excuse but you need to hold your horses when you want to talk about Black kids coming from single parent homes, in fact many have gone on to be successful and have full lives - one in particular comes to mind...President Barack Obama

You ever attend any Black civic organization meetings? You would hear that message constantly of personal responsibility, accountability and so forth. Yes there is lots of work that needs to be done. Really I don't mean to imply that it is somehow "not so bad" when whites do it , my attention paid to the Black part of it is only because it is having much more devastating effects... because of a number of reasons.
