I did mine early too (way before I got my interview schedule) because of the dreaded sputum thingy. :D

I had mine a month before my interview. No issue taking it really early. Just remember that visa validity will be +6 months from medical date, and that's it.

oh yeah I read about that. That's the one for the TB? I read that it will be a 2 month delay. Hope my fiancé doesn't have it

That's right. Better be prepared ahead than have last minute hiccups like being subjected to sputum culture.

Most of the applicants at St. Lukes do not get sputum, but you never know if you will be one of the unlucky few. Many things show up in the X-ray as suspected TB that are nothing but scar tissue from a previous illness or something of that nature. And showing some med report from somewhere else that it is not TB usually does not work. St. Lukes says TB, St. Lukes is God, end of discussion.

So if you have the time and Manila access, by all means go 2 months in advance so if you get hit with sputum you don't lose your interview date.

Good luck to you and him, and make sure he reads the walk through in the Philippine forum so he will have some idea of what to expect.

Yes AI422.... I sent him the walk through and also other people's experiences in dealing with the medical and the interview. Once he is clear with his medical, I plan to go home to join him at his June 2 interview.

I promised him that I would do that and hopes that we can fly back to San Francisco together. Hopefully it will not take too long to get his visa.. I'm okay with the within 2 weeks but the sooner the better so I can go back to my work.

My fiancé really wants me to be there at his appointment with him. I also would love to be there but I just don't want to have to wait a long time for his visa bcoz I have to get back to my work here

If you are not a USC I do not think you will be allowed in the Embassy.

You could wait outside but that would be as close as you get.

Good Morning Guys,

My Fiance went to St Luke's yesterday and he was told that all his tests were good but need to come back for an appointment next week Wednesday to meet with a psychiatrist (I think) to do a psychological evaluation. The reason for this is because of his annulment and grounds for annulment was psychologically incapacitated. I guess they just want to make sure he is not crazy

The nurse told him that his Xray and Blood test are good and to come to this appointment. After the appointment then he will be given the immunizations shots.

The nurse also told him that they will put a rush on it to make sure it gets to the US Embassy in time for the interview.

So I am very happy

Yup.. that is a standard requirement the second they see an annulment with those grounds. Just a chit-chat and kiss P1,000 goodbye

I got nervous and worried for a second there when he told me he has to go back :crying:

Did he disclose the past drug use? Just curious. Anyhow, congrats! :dancing:
