Thanks Hank. How often can I check online per day?

No published info on max frequency of cgifederal site visits, sis. If locked-out from site, you will be able to access again the next day anyway. So don't worry. :)

That's good news! Make sure as well that your fiancé will be able to secure the rest of the requirements: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/325288/packets/K1%20and%20K2%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_10%20October%202013_.pdf

Have a question.... regarding the medical exam

it is 1 week or 2 weeks before the interview appointment???

based on the US Embassy Interview preparation instruction guide, it says 1 week before

but from St. Luke's it states 2 weeks prior?

which is correct?

It's ideally 5-7 working days prior to interview, sis. http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3218.html

This gives the SLEC time to relay the physical file of medical results to the embassy. If the medical results is not yet received by interview time, there will just be a some delay during the visa processing. Not a major issue. Nevertheless, the applicant can go ahead with the interview. :)

But I should wait until I schedule an interview appointment first before going for the medical, right?

I have been checking online for open slots for interview and all of a sudden they have available slot for April 1 and 4th. It just doesn't give my fiancé enough time for medical.

Any suggestions?

Should I have my fiancé go to St Luke's this week for his medical and hopes we get a slot for interview in the next couple of weeks?

Embassy rules - at least one week before according to the embassy instructions letter.

You are required to have a scheduled appointment for your interview at USEM. You will be required to present your appointment letter sent by the National Visa Center or an e-mail confirmation from the Visa Information and Appointment Service or you may print off a copy of your appointment confirmation page after you have scheduled your appointment online to begin your medical exam.

You can do your medical ASAP but the results may not make it in time for the interview. If this is the case, you can still proceed with the interview and if you pass, you will receive a 221(g) . It is often the case when an applicant for a visa is told that a final decision cannot be made on their visa application immediately. (Your case would be pending the results of SLEC medical exam) In doing so, the consular officer invokes Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act and informs the applicant that the case will be put on hold until the applicant’s eligibility for the visa can be determined. This processing “time-out” is taken frequently. Once the medical exam "catches up" with the pending visa application a determination will be made. in your case the consular officer requires additional time, information (your SLEC results), or documentation before making a final visa decision. Typically it's not a big deal but be aware that it can add additional weeks to your visa approval notification.

I have a question regarding affidavit of support. Are they looking for specific amount a petition makes? I also have a 22 year old and my aunt as dependents in my tax return. Will that affect my eligibility to support my fiancé?

I make over 100K a year

Yes its the amount set on the poverty guidelines and you make over the amount for your household so no worries for you.

Here's the link just for kicks.
