Hi,

Today the update changed to "Administrative Processing".....

I heard that in a few days it should say "Issued" (I hope so)

Recap of my application:

July 7 - required NSO docs received by the USEM

July 8 - application was submitted to the Consular Officer (according to USEM)

so from July 7 thru July 27 status was showing "ready" (ready for interview)

on July 28 it changed to ready with "your case is open"

then July 31 (just today) it shows "administrative processing"

Hopefully SOON ( in a few days) I will see ISSUED :dancing:

Good News Guys !!!!!

His visa is ISSUED August 4, 2014 !!!!!

Yehey.... finally

so what's next after this? we chose to pick up his visa at 2GO so I guess we wait for a text message that it is ready for pick up?

Is it safe to make arrangements now for his flight like for next week?

I would suggest waiting until you get the 2Go message. Or book a flight that has no change restrictions/penalty. Some people have reported getting the visa delivered within days, some weeks.

NO!!!! It could still be weeks before the visa is in hand.

Hi Guys,

My fiancé arrives this Thursday :dancing::idea::goofy:

I want to thank you all for the help during my stressful process.

What's next to do once he is here????

Get married in 90 days and either relax and enjoy or start filing your AOS package so he can get EAD and get to working. But obviously the getting married is #1.

Sleep... get over the jet lag.... then toss getting married in there somewhere.

Whats an AOS and EAD?

AOS = Adjustment of Status I-485 application

EAD = Employment Authorization Document I-765 (free to file if done with the I-485)

AP = Advance Parole I-131 this is like an emergency travel card until the green card is issued (free to file if done with the I-485)

Yay! Finally .... :dancing:

P.s. Ask your fiance to bring at least 1 copy of his NSO birth certificate for the AOS.

Whats an AOS and EAD?

More info in the guides: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

Also, best to apply for his SSN soon-ish too once he gets here: http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn

-Will be useful for a whole lot of other stuff like opening bank accounts, getting a credit card, driver's license, etc.
