Hi, I'm hoping the group can help me on this... just want to ask or confirm that I can send the I129 documents and information as copies, even those documents with signatures... ie can the beneficiary 325A be a signed copy? I also have a divorce decree (in Russian) that would also be a copy...

Second related question, does the divorce degree then have to be translated, and then can that translated and notarized document be sent in as a copy?

Just want to make sure I wouldn't need the originals for those or any other documents physically sent to me by my fiance from Russia, in order to be sent in...

You will need an original signed G-325A, original signed letter of intent, and passport photo from your fiancé. Those will have to be mailed to you.

Copies are OK as well as the translation....no notarization required but the person doing the translation must include a certification statement.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!
