Myself and my husband are planning for first-time H1-b stamping(both holding Master's degree from U.S) in Canada in next couple of months. I would like to know if suppose our Visa's are rejected, this is worst-case assumption. what is the procedure to re-enter USA or Is any temporary Visa will be granted , say for 1 or 2 week , so that we can come back and settle our lease and other personal things.

I appreciate the advice and help in advance

Thanks

You would need a Visitor Visa, B2. Assuming you are not Cnadian and do not qualify for the VWP.

Usula duration of stay allowed on a B2 is 6 months.

Most Consulate will only deal with Residents or Citizens, you could ask them.

If something goes wrong could it also not impact any B application?

If there is a high probability of something going wrong your lawyer should have advised you to have the interview in your home country, if there isn't then all should be fine as they are usually routine if your lawyer has all their ducks in a row.

It is possible to apply for a B2 from a country that isn't your home country but then you are in a catch 22 as you need to prove strong ties to your home country but all of your current ties are in the US so it would be a hard sell.
