They guarantee approval or money back because 99%+ get approved. The process is fairly simple, a middle school student could do it. If you get denied based off paperwork or evidence then you probably shouldn't be approved anyway.

Yes, I know why they make the claim. I am saying they have no way guarantee such a thing. It is just a marketing ploy to get people's money.

They can guarantee anything they want, it does not mean one will get the end result of what was guaranteed. Hence, their money back guarantee, which is targeted to give the customer peace of mind.

Yes, they can claim they guarantee visa approval, but they have no power to actually do such a thing. And I can call them out on their BS 'peace of mind'. That is why it is complete nonsense and only stated so people think they need to pay them in order to get a guarantee of approval. Again, it is utterly untrue that they can actually guarantee anyone gets a visa approved. Someone could be filing for immigration purposes only and a site like rapidvisa can fill out all their forms correctly, but having correctly filled out forms cannot guarantee the CO will not see that they do not have a bona fide relationship and deny them for that.

If the process were so simple, there would not be a need for lawyers, rapidvisa services, or even, dare I say, self-help sites like VJ. :)

Like I said in my post, the only time a lawyer is really a necessity is when the case is complicated. I feel like you are taking what we are saying personal.

No one cares if you used a lawyer or not.. If you have your visa and are with your fiancée then that is all that matters.

I just do not want people thinking that lawyer or attorneys office is going to make their process any easier or quicker. Lawyers already leach enough money out of our economy.

I used www.easyfiancevisa.com as I did not want to go through the hassle of filing and proof-reading my paperwork. Their fee is around $800.00 and you still have to do the leg work of collecting all your evidence and sending them your personal information. But if you can afford it, you get the peace of mind that it will all be filed properly with no mistakes. They even guarantee visa approval or your money back (sans government fees).

there is no one on the face of the Earth who can guarantee the issuance of a visa. Just because they say they can, does NOT make it true. How can they guarantee a visa to a couple who has never met or for a beneficiary with a criminal history who makes them permanently inadmissible to the US? Impossible. The final decision is up to the CO, no company can sway a decision made at the consulate level. Use common sense.

Also, To the OP:

My husband and I had several red flags and we managed to get through the entire process 100% on our own with no RFEs. I didn't even find visa journey until we were at the NVC stage and ready for the interview. I literally did it on my own. If you use visa journey and your case is straightforward you can without a doubt do it on you own. This site is a great resource. My husband and I will remove conditions in a few months and I plan to use this great community to help us along the way.

I would only consider an attorney if your case is complicated (divorce, criminal history, unique situations, etc.)

Actually I am divorced, I have my paperwork verifying that I am legally divorced. Does this complicate things?

No. You simply provide a copy of your divorce decree.

I'm not taking it personal at all. The OP cares if I used a lawyer/service, or the question would not have been asked, no?

That said, I do agree, it can be done without any aid of lawyers or visa services. However, there are some who may not find the paperwork/filing process as easy as it reads in the instructions, or there are some people like myself, who have the extra money, and would rather hire a service to avoid any second guessing, and have peace of mind the process is done correctly. The money back guarantee, gimmicky as it may be, is just an added bonus consumers look for in a service.

Case in point, if she was denied the visa, no harm no foul, and I would have just ate the government fees like anyone else who did it by themselves. If she got the visa (which she did), then I'm still happy (both as a fiance and a consumer). The OP wanted advice on which path to take. I merely provided a reputable option should they have the money to burn.

What I felt, when I first went online to look for info on K1's, was that many lawyers out there made it sound like the process was hard and difficult and that hiring them makes it all so much easier and faster. It's not necessarily true. It's common to see posters mention how their experiences with lawyers and/or visa services turned out to make the process take longer and be costlier. Does it mean the OP shouldn't hire a third party for it? Only they know what's best for them. But the vast majority of members have managed to successfully obtain the K1's without resorting to one, and that's something worth mentioning.

I recommend you this group of attorney. My fiance and I used it for our process. I got my visa in 5 months. I had my interview last Friday. Even if your case is straightforward, I recommend you this attorney. You would feel more at ease, knowing they are doing a great job. Another important thing about having an attorney is that they can answer your questions and solve your doubts properly. Following strictly what this website says or paying attention to users who know nothing about law, but dare to foretell whether your visa will be deny or not can make your process such a burden. Each case is different and an attorney can help you make the correct choices :)

I recommend you this attorney:

You got your visa already??thought your status just changed to issued?? Lol im confused sorry

Hi!

I spent the money for Rapid Visa and even paid the additional money for extra checking. The did catch one mistake, I only copied the first pages of my passport when you clearly have to copy every single page even if there is no entry.

Beyond that I found them beyond useless...... I would ask questions and receive multiple conflicting answers. It became completely obvious that their people are barely trained at all and are responding from prewritten scripts. I had to repeat and rephrase some questions numerous times.

We finally gave up and withdrew our K-1,I-129 and I'm traveling there to get married in Leyte where my fiance lives. I will probably stay quite a long time and attempt to do a Direct Consular Filing.

Comments written on this forum have been a tremendous help and there is NO reason to use any service or attorney if you are extremely careful and pay attention to the fine print. Read the instructions, do the papers, read the instructions again, read the oapers again. It really isn't all that complex. Paying RapidVisa and paying for the I-129 is now money down the toilet. In my opinion attorneys are worse.

I consulted and attorney and it would have cost approximately $2000-$2500 for my fiance and her daughter. I have since learned that vital information that told me was grossly inaccurate!!!!! This was on a significant issue!!! Your best source of information are the Embassy website, USCIS website and of course this web forum is absolutely vital. I have learned an incredible amount here.

Thanks folks!!!!

I don't think that their intelligence was in question, but the level of their training was definitely inadequate to be dispensing information to paying customers.I would get contradictory emails minutes only minutes apart from different people.

I should have known better because I knew someone who used them before.............

I used rapidvisa as I didn't have the time to sit and write out all these forms.. there really convient and available for questions of course you will always have questions.. I just needed them to write out the papers as I didn't want to forget a paper that was needed like fiancé letter of intent and stuff.. they also help you fill out Affidavit of Support and the one for interview. so pretty worth it

Anyone can guarantee anything they want, it's the compensation when the guarantee isn't upheld that matters. That said, the guarantee offered by easyfiancevisa.com, of course carries some restrictions such as what you mentioned, but an otherwise clean scenario between both partners, they guarantee the visa.

In addition, while the CO may have the final decision, I must respectfully disagree with you in that I do believe that paperwork explicitly documented by a lawyer has a slight advantage over DIY, not from just my personal experience, but also with friends and family who have done the K-1 journey.

Hello, I am a US citizen and I am engaged to a Vietnamese citizen. We have visited in the last 3 months and are ready to take the next step and file for a k1 visa!

My question is... how are most folks doing this. Attorney, or a service like rapid visa. I am worried about mistakes causing delays. I have seen fees range from $300 - $3,000.

Thanks for any advice, I am excited to get started.

We are a DIY filer. We filed our I-129 mid March and got USCIS approval 13 May. I only did a lot of research and readings about the process. I Prepped documents in Philippines and sent it to my fiance in louisiana for him to send to USCIS. The only time my fiance consulted a lawyer is when he was preparing documents for evidence of support s he is really not into documents Lol. Interview in a week. Thats it! Edited by SquigzPH
