First...basic info...I am American and my husband is Swedish...we both have been living/working in Sweden for the last 3 yrs and plan to move to Pennsylvania once his application process is done and approved.

From what I have read...after he has had his interview, and is given the sealed envelope, he/we have 6 months to enter the US.

My questions is...Do we have to enter via an airport?

One way tickets from Sweden to the US are ridiculously expensive and it is cheaper to fly one way to Canada and then drive to the US boarder, entering via Niagara Falls.

Can he get his stamp in his passport at the Canadian boarder?

Thank you in advance for any advice.

You can buy a return ticket if cheaper than the one-way ticket to Canada, including factoring the cost of driving to the US from Canada - gas costs; toll fee; time resource, et al.

As per getting stamped at the Canadian border you can have your passport stamped. Loads of Canadians and others use the land border when emigrating to the US, so you won't have an issue.
