I'd say the worship of guns is a problem. Folks talk about how bad Islam is, I'm more concerned with those who worship a piece of metal to the point of they can't use a bathroom inside of their home without it strapped to their hip. Or the completely delusional notion of driving through the most dangerous part of town just because you think you're Teflon when you're packing some heat.

It sounds to me like the crazy will be crazy. The crazy in the desert decide to do the Allah thing while the crazy in Kansas do the Glock thing.

I'm sensing a good argument for mental health drugs in the water supply, worldwide. Might cure the ME of its nutbar problem and us of our gun nuts problem, in one fell swoop.

Lots of good Muslims out there. I hired a young engineer from Pakistan to work for me in China. He was brilliant beyond his years, but very devout about his religion. He was always happy to speak with me when I asked questions as I was quite ignorant about holidays, eating and living habits. He had an arranged marriage and never met his wife until the wedding day. I asked how that was working out for him, and he assured me that they only had the deepest love and respect for one another. He had his first and second baby before I left China, a girl then boy. They both had amazing large deep pool eyes of which the whole world seemed to live.

A couple of years ago was the 50th anniversary of the US landing on the moon. As we shared the same working area I commented on it to him. I was not prepared for his reply. He completely and utterly denied it ever happened. It is his view that it was completely manufactured by the US government, and not only that but so was 911. I was simply perplexed and only asked questions, but did make one statement as I know as an engineer he would have to think about it. I asked, "Just exactly how did that retro-reflector get on the surface of the moon if no-one ever landed there?"

No big surprise there. Plenty of people don't think we landed on the moon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon_landing_conspiracy_theories. It's not just Muslims who think this, it's world wide and has no color base. Same thing with 9/11, I've got my own theories since I was in DC when it happened.

Pretty much, if the WBC was in charge of America, I shudder the thought of what it would be like here.

A young man with a Masters degree in electronic engineering who not only denies the moon landing, but the holocaust, and 911. It was clear after less than one-minute that the discussion on these topics was over. People spend a lot of time slamming Christians these days and accuse them of holding back Galileo and Copernicus. You know what? They did indeed. But, for this kind of thinking in 2014? Wow, now that's scary.

I'm not surprised in the slightest. You have those people out there. It's nothing new. You got folks who still think the earth is flat. Religion has nothing to do with crazy, or conspiracies.

Just gives good reason for profiling those who have an agenda. Profiling is code for "watch list"

If that's the case, the WBC should be on a lot of watch lists, but I'd wager their not. He has a right to think the way he does, just because you don't believe it, doesn't mean he can't feel that way. There's a lot of folks who think things here I know they won't say out loud, but it's their choice to do so.

If you believe that about his agenda, then every gun loving American that has a ton of weapons and ammo should be profiled as well.

Owning a gun = Holocaust denier, moon landing denier, and 911 denier?

Sorry, but your math does not calculate.

You said having an agenda makes you more viable to be profiled. Like I said before, in this country more people are killed by guns than terrorism. Yet, anyone who wants to buy a truckload of ammo and guns isn't looked at, but the Iman boarding an airplane is likely to be pulled off on GP?

I thought this thread was about Muslims and the way they are thought of ? Why would we want to talk about slaves in America ? If we did we would have to talk about all races that were brought here as slaves.

You still here? Go start that thread in the MENA forum. I'll be with you shortly. Just pointing out the absurdity of it all, you judge all Muslims for the actions of a few, but the same doesn't go for gun owners.

My dad was an engineer. All his friends were engineers. All but one of his brothers and cousin brothers were engineers. I grew up around a bunch of engineers and let me tell you, they're insane. All of them.

Engineering makes men go mad.

I keep a bunch of them in a cube farm in the back of my building. Sometimes I have visitors and we go back there and listen to them talk in their beep and whistle language. It's fun but I don't think any of them are Muslim.

As I interpret the original post it was about how Muslim people are stereotyped and unfairly shown in a US television show. So, looks like the wide open spaces on the Serengeti to me.

On this one I will concede. If-in you gots a bunch of white boys wearing hang-em-high t-shirts and trying to board a plane ya mights want to have a little closer look. But hey, there's no tellin whether granny is packing one of them plastic 3-d thingies in her panties. Thankfully the US diverts all arriving international passengers to a secondary location for screening. I don't see a denier as a sole cause for additional screening, but it's a good start.

So, reading your next post... did you just refer to Marvin as a slave? Now you're just throwing out racist insults? There's not many things worth reporting, but this is one.

It's only a matter of time before the name calling starts. Don't report him, I'm trying to teach him something.
