Hello Everyone

I don't know if anyone has ever had to do this but it looks like i might have to ask the consular at the us embassy to extend the I-129F approval of 4 months due to my fiancee having a problem recieving her new passports from Venezuela so we can got to the interview....the approval for me came in 12 days and did not leave enough time for her to get a new passports....we have until feb. 23 for the interview....Has anyone ever requested an extension of their k1 & k2 approval to any embassy?

Thank you Freddy & Alys

It should not be a problem. You just write the embassy, give them the case number and ask for a delay. You can request up to two delays and then you are SOL.

Let me tell you my experience. I requested a interview date extend for my fiance, but the Islamabad embassy end up putting my case on hold instead of giving him a new date. so, I waited for like 4 months and told them to issue him another interview letter, he goes for the interview and they tell him that we haven't met in the past 2 years and they didn't give him the visa. So, if you are going to extend the interview date I suggest you atleast visit your fiance. Good Luck!

Thank you very much...the letter to the embassy has to be to the embassador correct? and they will give you a responce....how long will they delay the interview after the initial 4 months are up?

I'm not really sure if they'll put the case on hold. It's really up to them. Like i told you I wanted a date extension, and the embassy ended up putting my case on hold. You can ask the embassay if they'll put in hold or not.
