Doesn't seem to matter much that the pilot survived or not.

After this incident, the Turkish government announced that it had revised its military rules of engagement towards Syria and would consider every military element approaching its border from Syria as a threat.

FWIW I suspect so is ours. No practice makes Jack a dull boy. Yeah I know I mixed proverbs there, so sue me.

P.S. Rolling over clearly inferior adversaries is not practice.

No practice? I don't know much about the land or sea elements, but the Red Flag exercises the USAF run are more than just "practice", if you listen to the RAF crews that take part. ;)

Nothing like friendly rivalry to keep things competitively sharp.
