Considering Ukraine if pretty up there in fraudulence, this would be an atrocious idea.

US Citizens don't have much motivation to arrive in the Ukraine and stay. The same cannot be said of the other way around.

It doesn't matter if a million people sign it. It's not gonna happen with the current situation in Ukraine. They have to fix their mess, bring up their economy (a lot), etc for the US to even begin to consider making it one of the visa waiver countries.

I think it would take a decade or two (no offense, really, i think along the same lines for Russia too, but more in regards of democratic freedoms and such) for Ukraine to reach a prosperity level when citizens wouldn't want to emigrate just to have a better life. While this is the case it would be very unwise to open borders on the US side. I do sympathize with families but imagine the number of people who will flood the US and stay illegally who are not anyone's family member.

If there is no visa required for you to visit Ukraine you're in a better position that US-Russian families anyway: we need visas in both directions.
