Planning to file for K3

Hi everyone, we already received our NOA 1 hard copy, my husband and I are talking about filing K3. Is K3 quicker than the i-130? Please, I need an advise.

Hello. I have done some research on this and it's seems, at least for us, it is best to wait the I-130 out. K3 info is very sketchy to say the least. USICS website makes it seem like a viable option, however, if you peruse the K3 approvals on visa journey they are very few and far between. You could get lucky but it is more likely that an I-130 would go through as quickly as a K3. Keep in mind the extra cost and wait times for travel and work once the spouse gets to the states. I wish you luck with whatever you choose. Keep us updated.

Unfortunately K-3 won't be much helpful. They have combined my I-130 and K-3 at Texas (TSC); both will be approved at the sametime which will make my K-3 to be cancelled immediately. As far as which petition reached the TSC first after the petitions were transferred, it was K-3.

Did you apply i-130 and K3 at same time? How do you know they have combined your both petitions? Regards

You must send the I-129F with your NOA1 from the I-130 and it is USCIS policy to adjudicate the petitions together.

On what do you base your views.........The 129 is not quicker than 1130? There is so little information, it's not possible to verify that assumption.

USCIS posted a notice in September 2013 that they would adjudicate the petitions together.

The NVC have their policy on their website. (Which they seem to be ignoring?)

Anyone who has gotten the K3 except one, on the board that is, has gotten both approved at the same time.

Proudly canadian comment is correct. It USCIS Policy to send !-797C of !-130 with a K-3.

On Friday (Mar/21/2014) I called the USCIS, the IO told me that my I-129 was sent to the Bona-fide marriage dept. for verification on Jan/28/2014 and my I-130 joined the I-129 in the same department on Feb/06/2014. They have combined both petitions and you should expect the approval of both on a same day.

Now the question I asked on the other VJ forum which no one is able to answer is how long it takes for USCIS to verify the Bona-Fide marriage paperwork? As I am already told that all the other checks are clear by the IO. The following I have send to the USCIS as a proof of Bona-Fide Marriage:

Marriage Certificate, Pictures, 2 sworn statements, New Joint Bank Account Confirmation letter.

Any information will be highly appreciated. Thx.
