Hi all,

So I have recently had my medical and submitted my statement of readiness. After scouring through a lot of threads I have noticed that many people seem to think that London is notorious for forgetting to send notification letters etc so I want to call just to check they have everything needed and that I am on the waiting list for my interview. I tried the DoS on a number from a different thread who then informed me that I should cal the NVC who are now handling this information yet try as I might I cannot get through. Also, I have seen some posts that suggest you can email for this info but you need a special code otherwise the email will not go through? Could anybody point me in the right direction of who to get in touch with so I can just make sure that everything is on track?

Also, I am now preparing the documents for my interview including my i134. My fiancé's dad will be co-sponsoring so do I need an i134 for both him and my fiancé? and am I right in thinking that London just requires the i134, letter from employer, 6 months of paystubs and 1 years worth of tax transcripts? Plus what other documentation will I need, up to date statement of intent to marry ( in case our petition is out of date by the time the interview comes around) and up to date evidence of relationship? Are there any checklists I should be looking at at this stage?

Many thanks,

Smithbridge :)

The Embassy can be contacted via a contact form, they've always been very prompt in their replies to me whenever I used this.

However, you say that you have 'recently' had a medical and submitted your readiness form. Two things:

  1. Have you also completed the online DS160 form? If not, London will wait for that to be completed before trying to find an interview date for you.
  2. Depending on how recently you have completed all three steps (DS160, medical and readiness form) I would give London at least a couple of weeks before trying to contact them about your interview. Apart from anything else, you'll probably end up driving yourself crazy if you contact them and they keep saying "no interview assigned yet"!

The notes for the required supporting documents for the i-134 are available here http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-134instr.pdf and yes you need one from both of them, for supporting documents I just had a tax return, bank statements and evidence of value of assets, But the more support the better you never know if youll need it.

If you have filled in the online ds-160 then I'd ask them to send them asap as you arent ready for your interview if you havent got all your documents.

You can track your application here https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw== Use the reference number starting LND to track it.

Thanks RhiRhi,

Yes readiness and DS160 submitted, I had to enter the barcode on the readiness form so I didn't think you could submit one without the other :)

I know I'm early, and not getting too panicky just yet, but with all the stories Ive seen about London being slack on notifying people I don't want to risk any delays in the event that there is anything missing, just wanted to double check I'm on track. I'm sure it will be fine, but was also getting frustrated that each number I call seems to be directing me somewhere else :/

No problem! I received my packet 4 eight days after my medical so I'd say give it at least 2 weeks, maybe 3 before contacting them as they probably won't be able to tell you anything yet.

In terms of the I-134 stuff I took the I-134 form, a letter from my fiancé's employer and 2 months worth of paystubs. All they wanted was the letter and the form, they weren't interested in the pay stubs but I felt safer for having brought them. For everything else, here's a handy checklist:

You might find that not every document applies to you, e.g. if you've never been divorced then you won't need a divorce decree etc.

I think it really does vary on the length of time you wait for the letter, mine was only two weeks after the medical. I did put on the readiness form that I was travelling the beginning of april and the wedding was the start of may. If your planned dates aren't for later in the year perhaps they wait and prioritise those travelling sooner. Not sure if I just made that up or not but it sounds logical.
