Just give them a call to ask whether they receive your file from USCIS. If they did receive, then ask them for case number.

New Journey AOS:

My fiancee came to US on the 8th of March, 2014 under K-1 visa at Newark, NJ Airport for POE.

Applied Social Security Number on the 10 of March, 2014.

Married on the 13th of March, 2014.

Sent I-485, I-765, and I-131 on the 15th of March, 2014.

Received EAD on June 7, 2014.

Received Notice of Potential Interview Waiver on July 1, 2014 date 6/27

Contacted Ombudsman on 01/12/2015.

Ombudsman contacted USCIS on 02/20/2015.

Ombudsman sent a follow up to USCIS on 03/18/2015.

I-485 approved on 03/31/2015 ( we ordered your card).

Welcome notice was mailed on 04/01/2015.

Received Welcome Notice on 04/08/2015.

Card was mailed to me/picked up by USPS on 04/08/2015.

Received GC on 4/10/2015.

Prediction 04/08/2015

Generally, it can take three weeks or more for the NVC to receive your petition from the USCIS. Recently, a friend of mine waited about four weeks.

Once the NVC receives your petition, they will assign your petition an MNL case number and forward it to the U.S. Embassy Manila. When the Embassy receives your petition, they eventually will send your beneficiary a letter telling her that she's eligible to schedule an interview and giving her instructions on how to prepare for the interview.

Instead of waiting for the Embassy to notify you, you could take a shortcut and save a lot of time. You could call the NVC periodically to find out if they have received your petition. When they have received your petition, you can get your MNL case number from them.

Once you have your MNL case number, you can pay the visa application fee at BPI and schedule an Embassy interview appointment. There is no need to wait for the U.S. Embassy Manila to notify the beneficiary that they are eligible to schedule an interview. If you wait for the Embassy to notify you, it could set you back a month or more. Sometimes, the Embassy letter never arrives.

Thank you for your reply. I just sent an email, I think they I close today, but I will call them Monday. In my case, it has been 5 weeks since the petition was approved, but not new from the NVC.

Thank you, Tahoma, for your reply. I will call them Monday morning. I will follow your advice. It make sense to me no to wait , but call them and get the case number.

I have heard about the shortcut as well, once you have your case number......however where you take the medical exam in manila it clearly states bringing copies of your embassy invitation/instruction letter with you??????

Some one correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the K-1 just gets forwarded to the consulate after you call them and they issue the case number. I think the shortcuts your speaking of are for CR1/IR1 which don't work anymore because the forms are now submitted electronically.

Just give the NVC a call on Monday and ask about your case. Phone 603-334-0700.

We keep calling NVC periodically and no news yet. Their reply always is we do not have anything yet, please wait at least 4 to 8 weeks before you call us.

This is really nerve wrecking process. I can not wait to get out case number so at least I can track the papers online. Our NOA2 dated 6 March and we are still waiting for case number and letter from NVC. Today marks day 17 from NOA2 issuing date.

We will give them a call on Monday and hopefully they will have it by then...

Wish us good luck ...and good luck for everyone too who do not have their Case Number yet.

Fingers crossed :)

Hello all,

Thank you.

Lately NVC has been very backed up, it can take from a month to two months many times. You were approved a month ago, I would at least make a call and email NVC now.
