Hello! I have a friend that needs help. She became a USC in 2011. She married her husband in the philippines 2012 and had her baby girl in the philippines also 2012. Now, shes back in United States to work and now shes planning to petition her daughter and husband this year.

My question is, what FORMS does she needs to fill up for her husband and daughter. Does she needs to fill up 2 forms? She wanted to hire a lawyer to prepare everything, but i told her it will be exoensive. So please i need some comments and feedback so i could help her too..

Thank you in advance..

Your friend will need to file a spousal visa IR1/CR1 for her spouse and child. The previous poster is correct about the I-130 but the link is for AOS within the US which does not apply to her. She will need to file I-130s for both the husband and daughter for IR1/CR1 (i'm assuming CR1 because you mentioned they married in 2012). Spousal visa CR1/IR1 needs an approved I-130. Having a friend who does not know what to do advising her seems a recipe for disaster.

She should be the one asking, or better still reading the guides first.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

You will need to file an I-130 for each person. Just my opinion based on experience. The fees might be combined - not sure. Maybe one of the rocket scientists might be able to clarify this.

Best of luck!
