Oh no, those people do not deserve pets! I had a cat that needed special food to prevent urinary tract blockages. Yes it was double the price of other foods, but its what you do if they're a part of your family.

Our cat used to have a similar issue and he started peeing blood so he only could eat special cat food. Of course we gave it to him! It would be cruel not to as he seemed to struggle so much peeing without it. It is cruel to do that to an animal.

Twice I spent mega dollars getting him treated when he got blocked up. The first time was when it was diagnosed. Then after a while of paying the vet for the expensive Science diet prescription food, I discovered the stores sold the same stuff so I started buying that. Turns out its not really the same stuff, so I was back to getting him treated again at mega bucks again. He lived for many many years on that prescription food.

yah they were told that when she got the stones removed she needs to be on special food because they will form again...mother in law says -"we just have to make her drink more water..." that lasted....how long ? Plus they were also told that the food they are being given is the reason she is itching so much....it has been 5 years of same food and at times dogs develop allergies...no dice.

hubs is now looking for food and I assume he is the one that will buy it since they cannot afford it....apparently.

oh he pays stuff for them...they tell him to....he makes sarcastic comments but still does it of course...he better. If nothing else....

I am learning too...when we were getting the ribs for dinner I kept them in our cart and told him he is paying and some other weekly stuff that he would be eating....he tried to complain "wow 18 bucks for ribs" so I just told him to quiet down and pay it. I got nothing that week except for 12 bananas so he better. I rule with an iron fist...huh ha !

That sounds like some sort of effed up drink for victims of abuse. Maybe we should offer it to the people in the AOS/family effects forums.
