you have schedule C mixed up with other stuff.

I mentioned you were gonna set up yer husband as a small business man last year, so you two could take wild and crazy deductions on a schedule C.

Sometimes folk forget things, or choose to ignore things,

but

if you want more money, study the schedule C.

You and your small businesses.

My mom has a "small business" and she gets back like 8k.

My sister/BIL too.

Lucky ducks.

technically i'm bought into this same small business but I make absolutely no contributions or efforts towards it.

well, business writing, i can do. i didn't send a formal email to the organisation though, as they seemed pretty casual (volunteer positions were very casual also). maybe that was my mistake. i'll ask jonas to take a look before i send out my next email.

Some nonprofit organisations are pretty shoestring and depend totally on volunteers. Those volunteers often are not so good at responding sometimes. So if you really have an interest in them, you may want to try again closer to the time of your arrival, or even after your arrival.

It may be that their email server bounced it, seeing the originating IP address was NOT in the USA.

You could use a telephone for followup.

That's what I do, if I have sent any correspondence... hmmm lemme think...

phone, postal, phone.

phone, email, phone.

phone, fax, phone.

I won't leave voice mail, I always ask for the least-busy human. Sure, I make new friends with scores of tea ladies, but that can be fun as well.

Maybe engage yer fella to use a telephone, call into that office with said telephone, all throughout the day. If'n it's important, well, lets see what he can do for ya, using a telephone.

they don't have a number listed. just a contact form and an email address. but i will try again once i am actually there. maybe i will just turn up at one of their events and mingle/network.

i can't believe i am putting this much effort into landing an unpaid volunteer position lol.

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

ok our accountant found the problem, but I don't know how to make turbo tax fix it or why it's doing it in the first place.

By myself, it's pulling a retirement savings contribution of 371.

With matt, it's pulling 148.

If this should be a direct pull from box 12a coded as D, then the amount in my box is 741.68 which matches obviously NONE of these.

It's literally matt's income changing the percentage deduction on my retirement because it pushes it over 35500 which changes from .2 to .5.

complete and utter BS.

Call Turbotax and ask them how to fix it.

Call Turbotax and ask them how to fix it.

You can't.

The math makes sense now, I just don't agree with it.

I like how 401k is supposed to be pre-tax so it doesn't get taxed, yet i lose money at the end of the year because of it....

So is that really non-taxed?

No.

schedule C, Baby !!! ;)

hush, you
