I made only 35400 so i don't think i jumped any fancy brackets unless it's a 35500.

Seriously this pisses me off.

And Turbo tax is making me crabby.

All this pin number ####### and oh now you can't access previous year returns? uhm okay thanks.

All my immigration paperwork is at home so I can't find what I made last year so I have to get some stupid pin number.

I hate that pin they force you to make up.

so i wrote to a non-profit organisation based in seattle about a week ago to ask about volunteer opportunities (they have a page with a full list of open volunteer positions) and the type of commitment required. that's generally a standard type of thing to do in singapore (asking about the commitment required) but they haven't replied since. looking back at my email, i'm wondering if my question might have come off as me not actually being keen and 'more trouble' than it would be worth to engage me? should i drop them another email? what if they think i am *too* keen...gah!

i don't like rejection  and yes i know i have to get used to it as there will be lots more coming...

It's a language problem, alas.

Since you've some time, get whats-his-face involved in helping you to draft letters, using American English circa 1983 variety.

I really not know how you gonna cope, using all the parts of speech in an hour, each hour, once yer here, meh.

Makes no sense to me at all. Did you file as single then as married when you added him? You must have changed your filing status somehow.

I'm thinking she filed like B-2-2 or like B-3-3

Didn't he get unemployment last year or worker's comp or something? That might offset it.

No i did nothing.

I'm on turbo tax.

I'm just adding and moving alone like every other year.

I should view the physical copy to see ####### happened.

mmmm yes he did get workers comp but i forgot about that and I have no idea what he got.

Shouldn't the gov't send some kind of statement of that?

It's not taxable anyway, though.

Can you give me a pep talk about getting free advice?

Getting? No.

Giving? Sure ! When next you do it:

1. it's only to a female and

2. she must be topless during the vidcast and

3. Don't ask her husbands permission.

This seems a growing trend in CONUS, I not understand why.

I can see the blood on Jadas mouth still....

Stop getting me wound up !

In other queries - how's the snowfall?

Someone explain this to me.

BY MYSELF with only my income, I get a 1345 refund.

My husband made a whopping $144 dollars last year, of which, by the way, i notice they took ZERO federal taxes out of??

Anyways, when I add his W2, I get a refund of 1107.

I literally LOST money last year by having my husband work.

HOW does that make sense?!

I would have made more money if he didn't work!

Yer at the cusp, alas.

In olden days, I would have whipped out the 1040 Tax Table portion of the 1040 Instructions,

and shown you 'this', visually.

Any Schedule C? Add more stuff there.

It's more fun to use pencil and paper,

with raw empty forms

and an actual instruction book from the IRS.

Yes, I said FUN !

I'm physically looking at the forms and it makes no sense.

Idk what schedule C is, but I don't itemize.

I don't have more than 12k it itemizations to deduct.

Even if I deducted immigration fees, moving, etc, there isn't enough.

well, business writing, i can do. i didn't send a formal email to the organisation though, as they seemed pretty casual (volunteer positions were very casual also). maybe that was my mistake. i'll ask jonas to take a look before i send out my next email.

you have schedule C mixed up with other stuff.

I mentioned you were gonna set up yer husband as a small business man last year, so you two could take wild and crazy deductions on a schedule C.

Sometimes folk forget things, or choose to ignore things,

but

if you want more money, study the schedule C.
