Morning Asia...*waving*

Morning thread (yes Asia is special...so she gets a special good morning)

So, I lost my voice...so funny....sometimes a letter comes out but that is it......I have been ordered to stay in bed today and asked if i wanted a doctor...psh it is just voice....I lost him..he will come back eventually. no ? :content: (not on drugs yet and already crazy..indeed)

Now I am hungry...but I don't really feel like mixing smoothie. Water it is.

Verbal estimate for grounding is like 3k and for rewiring 7k-10k rough in. The owner of a larger nearby electrical company swears that the knob and tube is safe and all the houses in that area have it. The bathroom and kitchen appear to be aluminum. Because he said it was safe and the inspector said it was safe, we might only get them to pay for the grounding cost because they had false grounded pretty much every outlet in the house. So we'd be out like 5-8k to rewire the house. *faints*

The place hasn't burnt down in almost a hundred years, so it must be safe.

so i wrote to a non-profit organisation based in seattle about a week ago to ask about volunteer opportunities (they have a page with a full list of open volunteer positions) and the type of commitment required. that's generally a standard type of thing to do in singapore (asking about the commitment required) but they haven't replied since. looking back at my email, i'm wondering if my question might have come off as me not actually being keen and 'more trouble' than it would be worth to engage me? should i drop them another email? what if they think i am *too* keen...gah!

i don't like rejection :angry: and yes i know i have to get used to it as there will be lots more coming...

I don't like rejection either Kit...but I don't think this is a rejection yet....it has been a week, give them more time imo and also write to more places ? I usually go with...if they did not respond (or rejected me) ...I was not a good fit anyways ..... :)

that is a good way to look at it...more productive than going on a chocolate binge thinking of how unemployed i am going to be...although mmm chocolate hehe.

i am looking at other organisations now...although none deal with the issues/target clientele that this one does sadly. still will be a good opportunity to practice what i do now while learning how it is done there.
