drain in the floor, tiled walls, can handle water spray everywhere, covered toilet paper holder to keep the paper dry, moveable drying racks for any clothes.

=wet bathroom

Can't tell you how many times I accidentally sprayed myself after being dry when I was in Kolea.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

so I'm somewhere between Boatman and you, in age.

But boatman isn't counting backwards. I plan when oldtimers hits, I'm actually matching my mental age at some point.

Sounds like our Danish bathroom. Although, the shower area had a little lip made of the same flooring material to attempt to keep things a little separate. You could wash both floors with just the shower head, though as there were two drains. http://lifewithadane.files.wordpress.com/2012/12/007.jpg

That is pretty common in small bathrooms the world over though.

Total tiling on all the walls too? Even big bathrooms in the Philippines are like that. Although they do not bother with the lip in the shower area.

I actually really like those. Its nice not having to worry about shower curtains or stepping on the rub when getting out of the tub or shower.

i prefer them as well, but in Texas , many parts are 3 ft above sea level and it's a foundation problem. Sure, doing it is easy, but the land will subside and the house will shift and BOOM you've a busted drain pipe in a weird direction. [sorry, that's for concrete slab houses, a pier and beam house is easy to convert]

I had that set up in Singapore and China, and have been thinking to give it a try on a house sitting 100 ft or more above sea level. That doesn't describe Houston, and I'm in Houston the next 4 years, minimum.

actually, my wife and I are used to a wet bathroom set up, but

she not know how to handle a dry bathroom set up

and I'm done on the 'splaining bits, not have any hope of living in that house this year, or even next year.

Still, life is all about choices, and inputs on making same - I've some hope with the Mum doing her bits on my behalf.

Yep tiling everywhere, some of the apartments had showers without a lip as well, slightly different set up - but very common in apartments in Scandinavia. That is why Ikea sells those weird child sized baby baths (in American stores they are always much smaller and actually meant for newborns) - the apartments have no bathtubs!

Understand the problem then. Add a room where it all runs off through a grate to the outside?

ya, in Texas, we have mud rooms instead. I've a mud room at that house, is very useful, but it's not being used as a mud room.

Is easier to drop a 20 ft cargo container, IMO, but there's no egress for the gear to get it there, at that house. So I gotta nix that idea.

I'm not making a wet bathroom in that house, or even a wet kitchen. At most, I've converted the kitchen to 'chinese gas cooktops' with the superduper venting system.
