The Rainbow Rant (now with Unicorns)

Nah, not worth talking about, really.

I've explained the finances to her, repeatedly and in some detail, and she not get it.

I've had the PA do the same, and she not get it.

I've explained what I'm doing with school, repeatedly, and she not get it.

I know I'm in the minority demographic of millionaire students with organic-micro-farms and a slum-lord portfolio, and I'm tired of explaining things to her.

We're not moving on, no break up, I chose to sleep elsewhere as it saves time. My time is precious, and I'm OK with not seeing her till after the semester has ended, the crops are in and sold, 4 other projects finished, etc etc.

It's a snowball thing - since she refuses to understand the finances, she not understand why I'm not working, not understand why I'm in school, and there's no one on the planet that will explain it properly, and I've lost my endurance to listen to her rant about 'go find job' when I've over 9 mil in a bank account. Sure, it's my decision to not sleep at home, but, as I said, my time is precious and my university won't shift it's calendar to match hers (the primary reason I hired a PA for her) .

It wasn't an easy decision, the path to making it was long and arduous and moved rapidly. The bits about how to keep a clean house was the final straw for me, with no 'wet kitchen' and no 'wet bathroom' available for her to use, she keeps treating these two rooms as if she was in China.

Build her a wet kitchen and a wet bathroom. I'm glad my wife understood those differences.

Now get a job, you want your wife to starve? How's she going to live off a measly 9 million?

Oh geez :(

Do you not get along with mum-in-law?

Mum will get that lazy guy back to work.

actually, i get along well with her, as we talk a lot about organic micro-farms, construction, reclamation stuff, and remodeling techniques, China vs USA, often over a 7 year period.

the Mum coming in will be a disaster (for my wife) as the Mum will set my wife 'straight' on managing monies, how to keep a clean house in USA, why we'll never install a wet kitchen or bathroom, and in general put an end to her caterwauling .

I welcome it, but for my wife, it will be a disaster.

Hey I'm turning 45 this year. And no one is going to get me to admit differently! At least here that is. Unless I feel like admitting I'm really turing 55 but started counting backwards after turning 50.

drain in the floor, tiled walls, can handle water spray everywhere, covered toilet paper holder to keep the paper dry, moveable drying racks for any clothes.

=wet bathroom

I can convert the master bathroom in the house to have this, about 2k in materials plus my time for 2 days, but i really don't want to put a drain in the @#$@ing bathroom, as it will severely violate the integrity of the concrete slab [this is a Texas 3 ft above sea level problem) as I'd be drilling a hole in it and I really prefer not to do the conversion.

I actually really like those. Its nice not having to worry about shower curtains or stepping on the rub when getting out of the tub or shower.
