remember, it's a half-a-degree off the equator.

I remember getting outside at lunchtime every day with my staff, they were complaining about how hot it was at 97 degrees. That ain't hot. Sure, I was used to Houston summers at 104 to 110 with 120 percent humidity, but these singapura ppl are pansies when it comes to weather.

Sure, if you own stock in a aircon installation/repair chain there, you can make nice returns !!!

not really. As the Northerners will tell you -

don't wash em ! After about 5 days of continual use, your body sweat has left a nice matte of stuff inside, and the itchiness disappears.

If you wear yer polo pants, i think you'll stay warm enough. That extra padding in the thighs and buttocks is useful, acts as insulation.
