So I bought a new macbook a couple of months ago and after 4 years they apparently still have not fixed the wireless connectivity problems that macbook pro has. I went 12 hours without wireless internet between yesterday and today after I thought I had fixed the issue - I disabled the n on my router, I took off ipv6, I reset the pram. :ranting::ranting::ranting::ranting: I went out to buy a USB wireless thing today and nowhere on the box did it indicated PC only, and of course it is PC only. I am so sick of this issue.

ah there's Darklar....

Well golly-gee-whillikers....

The meetup, originally pegged at 1 hour, grew into an overnight and I'm still here.

Sure, herculean things all-around, but she's seemingly happy.

Git R Done!

In other news, finally she understands about school, and monies, and the portfolios, and why working at a j o b is a really bad idea. We went to church this morning, together, and my gang got at her again for about 3 hours. Either I'm wearing her down, or she's told her gang the values on my portfolios and then told them that she's not an illegal alien and not need any further assistance from them.

I'm betting on the latter.

----

Still, was a nice weekend-ish thingie to hang out with her. She's promised to stop by in the evenings at my digs after sun-down, bring some food each night (oh, ps, she passed her driving test and is now driving a tricked out Saturn Vue for the rest of the year) and learn how to use the mud room.

She finally understands WHY I'm in school (to be a patent attorney handling DNA sequencing) and has learned that there are breaks inbetween semesters, and we can go traveling during these breaks. Yes, Traveling, O Fearless Readers, Traveling !!! [first stop, Detroit for 2 weeks]

ni zhi dao 'ethernet cable' ma

It translated ma as horse. But, new macbook pros don't have ethernet cable slots. I had to drive to the apple store at Yale and get a thunderbolt to ethernet adapter at 30 bucks and then a wireless ethernet outlet creator for 70 (you plug it into the router and then plug another one into any outlet into your house and bam!). Good news is the internet is beyond superfast because I get my own dedicated line in.

I am still not happy about this issue, though. It is beyond unacceptable for a 2100 dollar computer or whatever it was to not have functioning wireless.

I agree with you, I keep the Dane this way.

Happy Anniversary and you clean up nice! I am so the ugly duckling of this thread.

I'm glad things are improving.

I'm not sure I'd consider going to Detroit as traveling, per se, but rather like going into some sort of post-apocalyptic version of hell.

oh, no - I've 10 houses up there and a warehouse.

Mrs. Darnell (pbuh) is gonna be a remote slumlord , starting the 2nd week after final exams. We go to wrap up, me to handle the reconstruction and her to connect to all things Chinese in Detroit (read tenants and a house manager) then we scamper to China, pick up the mother, and return to Houston...
