Smart thinking there! When I was in school I took care of the swimming pools for a large apartment building. One outdoor above the control room, one indoor pool below the control room with a whirlpool next to it. I had the same type of plumbing set up in case one of the heaters should fail. There was one spare heat exchanger I could use if any one failed. It was a plumbing nightmare if you didn't understand it. Open the wrong valve and you would have a serious flood on your hands. One of the building caretakers tried to make an adjustment one time and tied the indoor pool to the outdoor pool. What a friggen mess that was.

thanks. I came up with the idea of the manifold when I spliced the heater a few days ago.

The idea of separate waters heaters was also mine when the house was first built. There is also 2 central air units, and 2 heating systems.

This house was a custom built, not a builder's choice. I designed it.....
