Just got back from visiting husband

Hi all,

I just got back from Albania to visit my husband. I am so sad to be back and especially sad because the embassy was no help when I went while I was there.

I thoughth I would go in and try to see if they could possibly give us an interview wheile I was there. They received our packet 3 in early November. I asked them when they thought we should expect packet 4 (with the interview date). The ladt seemed sincerely sad for me, but would not give me any specific answers. She said it will not be in December or January and it could be 4 more months. I don't understand why 4 months if they already have our packet 3???

Please, if anybody has some advice, words of wisdom, or similar stories, I'd truly love to hear from you. Do you really think it will be 4 more months? We filed the I130 DCF in July (5th)...

It's not unusual to wait 4 months or more for an interview in some countries. Check with others going through Albania. Hang in there, because you've come this far and can get over this hurdle! Hope it happens soon for you!

Thank you for your reply. I just thought 4 months seemed long since they received our packet 3 on November 6th. The embassy told us 4 months on Dec.26th. Do you think maybe this is just what they tell everybody? How long was your whole process (did u do DCF?)???

PS - I have looked at timelines from Albania. Most of the cases are very different from ours. Ours is actually quite simple. One girl who does have the same situation as us applied exactly one month before us and had her interview on Nov.30...
