Checklist is generally not required by the Regional Passport Office or at PSK to obtain PCC. But you still can download a standard checklist of all documents which are required at the embassy interview. Download the checklist from the your area Embassy where you would be interviewed.

I had my PCC from PSK at Chandigarh and it took 3-4 weeks. Good luck !!

Hi,

My wife went to AMD Passport Seva Kendra with her USCIS letter & a standard check list printed from (Mumbai Embassy), they did not accept it and denied PCC. Now we are waiting for some correspondence from NVC and re-try. I do not know why they want a check list from NVC? This is delaying the process. I personally know that other state does not require NVC checklist- a standard printout along with USCIS letter will do.

Hello,

Yeah..for some reason, the state of gujarat requires the checklist from NVC to issue a PCC. I think thats why if your embassy is mumbai, the NVC does not require a PCC submission for case complete. I've read here on VJ from other members saying that they did not submit a PCC to NVC and that generated a checklist. After a simple call to NVC mentioning the situation with gujarat PSK's, they ask NVC if they can bring the PCC to the interview and NVC agrees and completes the case and schedules an interview.

Let me know if you find a simpler solution.

No. Its nothing like that. I've issued PCC from SURAT passport seva kendra on the same day.

It depends on how old your passport is,in my case,m having a passport which is just 5 month old at a time of issuance of PCC. If you are having a passport older than 6 month then,it require local inquiry which will take 2 weeks to issue PCC.

I was having a copy of document containing case number,IIN which NVC sent in mail. But passport offfice said its nt required, only residence proof, marriage cert,n passport was required.

@ ANKY- Please be advised that my wife got PCC from AMD-GJ yesterday. Following are the items she took to the PSK for PCC.

1. The letter from NVC showing case # BMBXXXXXXXXX

2. $88 paid receipt, on the second page NVC ask you to go to their website and print Check list for the interview. That list shows the PCC requirement.

3. USCIS approval letter- which they did not ask.

Hope the above info helps. any questions please revert.

Hi S,

It depends... If the passport is issued within last six months you wil get the PCC on the same day or on the second day.

If that six month period is over, PSK send the information to CP office for Police verification. CP office forward it to your local station for verification. Every thing goes back in the same way... Local police station to CP Office then to PSK. PSK said it will take three weeks.

My wife got it exactly on the 7th day. That was by going to the CP office , local police station we expedited the process. My father in law knew few people at Cp office....so it was expedited.
