For those of you that have done this before (Filed a Federal Tax Extension for 2009/10/11/12/13)

If you e-filed your extension and your tax software told you that your extension was "accepted", all you get from the software is your "Extension Submission Id"

What does an actual IRS extension receipt look like ?

Is a pdf that shows the submission ID sufficient ?

Thanks

If you file a paper extension you don't get a receipt. Your proof will be your copy of the extension form and maybe a copy of your cancelled check if you owe tax on your return.

I actually filed an e-file extension (ACT) which gives me an IRS Submission ID

Will that suffice ?
