His efforts at defending "real" civil rights is not the only thing about Fred Phelps most people don't know.... there is another little secret, yup, yup, yup, what we have here is another example of a democrat in action.

And you just know if this guy had been an active person in the GOP party, we would all know about it.

I'm pretty sure that you have access to Google too. Knock yourself out! The late Rev. Phelps was neither a fair example of the vast majority of Democrats, nor one of the vast majority of "true" civil rights crusaders, nor even Christians. Attempting to make him appear to look good due to his civil rights attorney days, decades in his past when he was openly so prejudiced, makes you look pretty silly. Implying that he was a Democrat somehow reflects on all Democrats makes your position sillier still, especially since your assertion would also have to reflect your own often touted religion. Sorry for pointing that out, but someday perhaps you should think about your posts before you post them. Just a thought.

Phelps was neither a fair example of the vast majority of Democrats, nor one of the vast majority of "true" civil rights crusaders, nor even Christians. Attempting to make him appear to look good due to his civil rights attorney days, decades in his past when he was openly so prejudiced, makes you look pretty silly. I realize that since the right Reverend Phelps was a raging homophobe he was likely quite a hero of yours, but the man also considered himself quite the Christian, so you are digging the hole deeper. And you never 'simply post' as your post history clearly indicates.

Fortunately, I believe that in the final analysis, we will discover that the lasting legacy of Phelps' hatred and vitriol is the uniting of religious and nonreligious people, with left and right leaning politics... All joining together to say that the westboro "church" is wrong in its motives, its methods, and its message.

Just because he was a Democrat (no implication necessary) doesn't absolve him of being a thoroughly despicable human being.
