Not sure we didn't know anything about it either until recently :/ it may only be for UK but I would go on HK website and type that in the search bar if there is one.

Right, our case was updated 2 days in a row just after sending the readiness form, do you think that's a good sign?

It means someone's casually glanced at it. Probably logging the forms you sent in.

Hi

What is the phone number for the NVC? We received confirmation on Dec 1 that the Ho Chi Minh embassy had my fiance's petition and have been waiting for the appointment letter indicating an interview date and instructions on next steps. Supposed to come in 1-3 months or longer. Nothing yet and impossible to get info from the embassy.

It appears there is a new online system for scheduling interviews and we don't know if we should try to schedule or if we need to wait for a letter in the mail. Very confusing and no one to provide advice.

Where does one find the Readiness for Interview document? Is this for specific embassies or for all?

This is all so confusing. We are going a bit crazy.

Appreciate any advice.

Thanks,

Craig

If you google national visa center it will come up. The number I use is from New Hampshire. Use option one. If they haven't given you a case number, give them your petition receipt number. As for the readiness form I just went on our particular embassies website and typed in "application for interview readiness" and the form was one of the things that came up. Hope that helps. I know the feeling of not knowing what's going on. Makes you feel sick and helpless! Hope it goes well for you!

Sounds like it was most likely not submitting the readiness form that caused the wait. They don't seem to have a mechanism for prompting you when they are waiting on you to do something.

There was a flutter of activity on the CEAC on my account just before I got my letter. I got the letter on 28th Jan which told me my interview was 11th Feb. Based on my experience checking my CEAC status it sounds like your standstill won't last much longer :)

You have no idea how much that has helped me, this has been the hardest part so far feeling like we could be so close to being together and now because something got left out, we have been pushed back. I needed positive reinforcement big time, THANK YOUT THANK YOU THANK YOU. And congratulations on the approval!!! :)

So between your medical and the letter arriving, did you guys try to find out your interview date from the NVC at all? And when did the fluttering occur before the letter arrive? Just to get an idea of a time frame

Well my medical was on 13th Jan, but we got the letter letter on 28th Jan so I was never at a point where calling the NVC seemed necessary, so I never did. The 'flutter' I noticed a in the week preceding getting the interview letter. I imagine this was the embassy receiving my medical information and logging it.

I see that your case was updated on CEAC on 18th March. It's only the 21st March now. Try not to worry so much! smile.png

The only reason I can see that it has taken this long so far is not submitting the readiness form. Now that you have and they have updated your case then things should start going at a normal pace, but that pace may be another week or so depending on how busy they are.

I work in an admin/bureaucratic environment myself (a medical school), which is basically what you are dealing with here. I find it helpful to think of it in these terms: so they got your readiness form, lets say it takes a day for someone to look at it. Someone looks at it and goes and takes you paperwork off the 'awaiting readiness form' pile and puts it in the 'set interview date' pile, lets call that another day. Then someone who works the 'set interview date' pile gets to your pack, goes through the paper work, logs what needs to be logged and produces a letter, lets call that 2 days. Lets say that takes 4 days (just a number I pulled out of the air - please don't take that literally!), they then post it which takes another few days to get to you, maybe more depending on how busy their post room is. And so on and so forth.

Now that things are moving along I'm sure you'll get your letter soon. However, I'm also sure that no matter what I say you will be pulling your hair out until then tongue.png

Not sure what to think.... It is now the 25th and I called the NVC last night to check in... Got a very foreign (VERY hard to understand and I'm 90% sure he couldn't understand me very well) man who was extremely rude and just kept telling me "ma'am you need to call the embassy and take this up with them! I don't see any interview date at all" (pretty sure he didn't even look, it took him at least 2 1/2 minutes just to find my phone number to verify) Could this be just him being ignorant and not knowing how to do his job properly and not understanding how this entire process works, because it's common knowlege that the London Embassy doesn't give out any personal information to anyone? Am I being paranoid or are we supposed to be contacting the embassy? I hate this!!!

As I never contacted the NVC or embassy myself I can't really answer that. I would, however, direct you to post #4 on this thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/474161-london-k1-a-complete-guide/

"The order for medical and readiness form are interchangeable. If you have all your documents, you can submit the Notification of Applicant's Readiness before you actually attend the medical. The embassy website says:

Please note that you can expect to wait 6 weeks from the date on which you email the forms before being contacted by the Immigrant Visa Unit. We will not respond to status requests during this time.

That means don’t expect to get an interview letter within days of the medical or submission of the readiness form, whichever comes last."

Although in my case it didn't take that long because everything was done in the right order, perhaps your experience will be different to mine. It is true that my case was updated many times right before I received my letter, but perhaps because it took you so long to submit the readiness form it will take longer. It doesn't seem to me that there is anything wrong with your case, just that you'll have to wait.

That is not what I was hoping to hear, but it was what I was expecting. This waiting stuff is getting harder and harder. Thank you for your help
