You keep talking about a 300% rise. Where did that happen? And please keep it apples to apples.

You are not even comparing fruit. Why? = I doubt you even read the article. You saw the title = whenever any1 criticizes Obama or anything connected to his administration= It garners a "Pavlov's Dog" response = You start making about as much sense as this guy...

But..I will give you props - You are very good at deflect via distraction. When you read the article & are ready to discuss it head on. Get back to me. In the meantime - I have better things to do than take bait.

Literally not a single one of those articles says where they got the 300% from and the worst that anyone can say there is that 'some insiders' say that rates 'may' go up.

This doesn't sound like doomsday, this sounds like someone trying to get a story where there isn't one, to me.

cmon you figured out how to post. you should be able to figure this one out. NOONE in the low risk categories is signing up, those who do have insurance will pay to cover the gap. see spot run

I read the article. It's speculation. Nothing more. Get back to me when you have something tangible.

Talking about Pavlov's dogs, it's kind of like your drooling reaction whenever the right wing echo chamber produces an anti-0bama () piece, isn't it?

You can't support speculation with more speculation. I mean, you actually can, but it is very sophomoric.

from people that actually know what they're talking about.

These are the same people who predicted these increases would have happened in the beginning of 2013 to cover the additional expenses of the ACA which were to go in effect in 2014... They keep pulling stuff out of their RD and selling it to the more anxious.

As I encouraged the other guy, when you have something tangible, give me a shout.

Facts are overrated!!! Soylent green is people. Run with it!

Perhaps there will be a rise, but 300% seems extremely doubtful given that not a single person quoted in any of those articles was backing up that number in any way.

Low risk categories aren't signing up because of a concerted propaganda campaign.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see that the conservatives campaigning against the ACA are doing so with a longer game. My speculation (which is every bit as likely as a 300% jump in insurance costs), is that they are going to encourage the costs to go as high as is possible and then come around to claiming that it should have been a single payer system from day one. So they'll wait for their propaganda campaign to work and then say that the democrats messed it all up by creating the ACA, and here, we'll give you single payer, which the democrats wouldn't give you, then everyone truly will have healthcare!

It's very obvious that the US healthcare system, in its current incarnation, is broken beyond all repair. Costs are going to rise no matter what. Before ACA, costs were constantly rising. Now that the ACA is in, costs are continuing to rise, because the system is overpriced to start and people are still as greedy as they were to create the broken system. The system is beyond my ability to even comprehend how this can happen.

My wife was in a car accident over Christmas. She was struck by a driver. Bills are still coming in for the ER trip that she took to ensure she had no spinal cord or head injuries after her car was completely totalled. Her and her dog, given the damage to the car, were lucky to survive. And yet her insurance has not covered her ER trip completely. Which was preventative medicine, to ensure that any problem was caught immediately. The idea of a person being charged thousands for an accident for which she holds no fault, just to make sure she isn't at risk of dying alone in the hotel room where she had to stay? Is completely unbelieveable to me. To me, it sounds like something out of a horrible dystopian novel, not something that can happen in an actual developed nation that purports itself to be the greatest in the world.

That's a false statement. The fact is that as of the beginning of 2014 (and enrollment has more than doubled since and the "invincible" started to constitute a larger part of the sign-ups), about a quarter of those enrolled fell into the much coveted 18-34 age bracket. Granted that's not the third or so of the enrollment that was targeted for this bracket but it's a far shot from NOONE. Kind of like the below, you know?

laughing.gif i hope you have the courage to be on VJ in the coming year.

rolleyes.gif Don't you worry. I've been on VJ for the past 10+ years, why would I all of a sudden not have the courage to still be around next year? That's just silly.

I can promise you there will be an increase. The cost of health insurance has been rising steadily since the inception of health insurance. As I pointed out earlier, for the slackers who never bothered to get coverage, the increase can be any factor of zero.

p.s. I hope your wife & dog are doing well.
